Event Coverage 15th Annual Run What Ya Brung

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by GAOldsman, Feb 14, 2020.

  1. It’s official. We nailed down the day to October 3rd, 2020. It’s a show & go with unlimited swap meet spaces. $25 for test and tune (RWYB) and that covers admission for the car/truck and driver and as many passes as they will let us run, against whoever you want to run. $10 each covers admission for car show and spectators and/or unlimited swap meet space. And as usual free camping, but electrical hookups are limited and 1st come, 1st served. The electric hookups can be reserved by contacting the track. (478) 847-4414

As always it takes place at Silver Dollar Motorsports Park in Reynolds, Georgia. So mark your calendars and BE THERE!!

Just the right time of the year, before the nights get cold, but late enough for most of the gnats to be gone.
Hopefully we'll be able to have a good group to cook supper and gather around the campfire for awhile that Sat. night.

Commitments? Yeah, I already have the room I want at the Cotton Gin Hotel reserved, and plans are to bring both BGII and the '40 coupe.

  11. No doubt Tony. Hopefully there won’t be a SEGA race that weekend.

NO race on the schedule for that weekend. Knoxville is 26 Sept and Aiken is 17 Oct.

Finally got all the electrical gremlins chased outta my'40 coupe this past weekend, or so it appears. Once this damn rain stops again I'll test it out and if all is well, then I'll swap it and BGII and start on the project of pulling out everything between the crankshaft flange and the rear gear yoke, and refacing, and checking fits, concentricity, parallelism, runouts, etc. along with installing a dual disc clutch setup so as to have a clutch I can release with my weak left leg and it still be stout enough to hold the power. This is a last ditch effort to avoid a slushbox.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Problem here is I have no idea where Armuchee (Turkey Mountain) is:p
Reynolds is about 30-40 mi. SW of Macon, which is geographically ion the center of GA

  25. Did you find the gremlins DOM?

Took the Hoodlum out after repairing a fuel leak at the regulator.

Found the gremlins I was looking for but it took Red and I to figure it out and fix it.
But somehow in the process we must have pulled something loose on the circuit for the turn signals as when I took the car out for a test drive all was fixed on the original problem, but the turn signals don't work.
And now with Covid 19 lurking about and also the pollen, I'm staying home unless it's absolutely necessary to get out.
At the age of 83, plus having asbestosis, hypertension, and a touch of diabetes, I'm trying to play if safe!

  28. Way cool brother. I believe my Dad was there. Yep miss Dad and Mr. Dan tremendously.

Yes DOM I’m glad you are staying safe my friend. And glad you’ve narrowed down your gremlins on the ‘40. Hopefully it’s just a fuse or something simple with the blinkas.
