  12. I've always loved sedan deliverys. I have one, and a half Dodges. A farmer gave me the rear half of one he used to made a sawmill with. He only needed the front. So I made a camper from it. lol My daughter Lauren is in both photos. Ron.... 316.jpg 20170704_182732.jpg

    Hello,

Recently, we saw this 1950’s Ford Sedan Delivery on the street and wondered if it was going to the ever popular Outlets Cars and Coffee event, early one Saturday morning. I had seen it before on my visit to the surfboard manufacturing center of South Orange County and took some photos of it back then. It stood out even being parked by the side of the road. The latest incident was nearby to the large Cars and Coffee event held every Saturday morning.

The South Orange County Outlet shopping center has become a drawing for some great shopping locally. It has also risen to become one of the busiest/largest Cars and Coffee events in So Cal. It is located right off of the I-5 freeway in San Clemente. It is one of the only ocean view Outlet shopping centers and is only a block or two away from the beach. With the views in the background, the huge shopping center, lots of cars, including a increasing amount of hot rods and customs, plenty of restaurants, like the great coffee from Ruby’s Restaurant. It is becoming a draw for a lot of So Cal hot rods and cruisers.(as well as some celebrities and sporty car groups)

It is one of the late start weekly Saturday morning car shows in So Cal. It starts a 9 am and is usually over by 11 am. They have strict rules enforced by the local Sheriff’s Department, too. In talking with some others, one can go to the 5 am, crack of dawn, Donut Derelicts in HB. Then at 8am when that show starts closing, drive down the coast for one of the most beautiful drives in all of California. Small beach towns, coastal driving, the ocean next to your hot rod most of the time, and finally arriving at one of the best ocean view car shows around.

So, our sighting of this 1950s Ford Sedan Delivery was not a fluke and could possibly be seen cruising and on display at one of these weekly events in South Orange County. It is freeway close and if the cool builds like this one show up weekly, it is an event not to be missed or at least experience once. Shopping, weekly car show, great dining what is not to like? (a new luxury multiplex is in the construction phase, too.) But, we do like sedan deliveries…too.

  25. { VON MOPAR } I really like your 33 delivery. A very Cool stance! Did you do a sedan conversion, or were they a little different down under? If you did, that's a great job! The only reason I ask, is my rear door hinges are on the left. Also the original gas tank was inside the rear door on mine originally. But that was a bad idea. So I moved it to the driver's side. Really like the lettering job too. Would like to see some interior shots. That's a great looking Dodge. Thanks for sharing. Ron... 20200110_092220.jpeg 20190205_135157.jpeg

We are right hand drive here that’s why the back door swings open on the other side IMG_8129.JPG IMG_6333.JPG Adjustments.JPG

The plan (photoshop thanks to one of the clever folk over on the Photoshop pages) but we planned to fill in the rear side window. 34 HiBoy HAMB photoshop in Purple.jpg

Early work doing the conversion from 4 door master, tho we decided the door opening was too big and the body guy got to do it twice.

And door cut in the back. We found pikkys online but still have no idea if the original rear doors have square corners or if they are "tombstone" and follow the rear window shape. We chose the latter - its a hot rod so it really doesnt matter. We hinged on the right as its a right hand drive country over here
