Does anyone know where I can get a cam or an entire spare engine?

Welcome to the HAMB. I have no idea where to find a spare engine for your '37. I am sure that there is a MOPAR or Plymouth club that you can find online that will have some idea.

if it were me I would build a hot rod out of it. so I am not going to be a good influence on you but welcome to the HAMB anyway. Stay and play there are a lot of really knowledgeable people here and someone will be able to help you I am sure.

It would be a lot easier for people to help you find an engine if you had filled out your location when you registered here....I don't know why people are afraid of giving a general location....

Hi. Post some photo's if you can. I just got thru rebuilding the 217 in my 1950 Plymouth Deluxe and found many parts from both Roberts Motor Parts www.robertsmotorparts.com and from Kanter Auto Products www.kanter.com
I just did a quick scan thru on both paper catalogs and did not see a cam but Kanter lists parts for the 201 engine including cam bearings & gear. Both have paper catalogs as well as the website catalogs. Check them out.
Have you talked to a local engine rebuilder machine shop to see if they can build up and regrind your old cam if you cannot find a replacement?
Between these two sites I was able to get everything I needed for my engine rebuild including new pistons (0.030 over), rods, bearings, timing gears, etc.
Keep us updated on what you are doing. Good luck, Jim

  10. People worry about someone stealing their identity I think. I got a close friend (we call him sasquatch) from Iowa who put his location as Puerto Rico on Fb. I asked him why and he said he didn't want anyone to get a credit card in his name.

@Moriarity is right here my new friend ( @FL_Dave ) knowing where you are makes it easier for us to help you. Some of us may even be willing to come by and help you wrench if you are in driving distance.

A 392 hemi or 440 may be easier to locate

Anyone want to trade me into a Dart? LOL

Slopok, never thought of that one, I'm not a flathead guy. Although I occasionally play one on tv.

perhaps, but I think it more likely to avoid an ‘Ex’, a ‘skip tracer’ or bail bondsman...:D

If restoring the p15-24? site would be good. When I had a few 218's/230's I git parts from powerwagon.com? Man, been awhile.

I have a stock cam from a 218 if you want it, shipping cost and it's yours. Might be able to get it reground to what you want? I dunno, I just hate tossing things away.

Anyone want a surface rusted SBC Crower cam?

Check out people with old farm equipment. A lot of old combines were powered by Chrysler flathead engines.

  28. I know he is looking for an old mill, basically unobtanium for most of us. Someone posted that a 392 hemi or a 440 would be easier to find which you did not jump on at all. I posted in response to his post that I knew where there was a 413. Which you did jump on.

You don't get it I understand that. but now 4 times I have got the new guy back to the top and you are not required to get it. :D

Looks like he got scared off (or maybe went to one of the other forums, which sounds like where he belongs).
