You could buy redefined oil from Master Lube on Singleton Blvd in Dallas for $1.00. For 5 gallons and they threw in the can in the 60’s. If you had a oil burner or leaker this was the way we did it.
My best WAG would be early forties. I never knew there was a grade of gas cheaper than "regular". Great pic, thanks LowKat. 1 more car I promise, Rex Winter Dry n windy Lubbock TX
The poor guy was probably deprived of someone like you in his life to teach him how to be a "real man!"
And , how did he lay under that engine on the ground and unbolt that connecting rod from the crankshaft, and not get any oil, grease, dirt, crime on himself and those nice clean hands.... Amazing .
Great photo of Jud Larson with the trailered Leader Car Wynn's roadster. I would guess this is Phoenix in 1965. Jud drove the Wynn's dirt car while the car on the trailer was driven by Don Branson. BTW, that's one of the dolly trailers that was manufactured by A.J. Watson's father and his brother Donald. Thanks, Rootie!
