Thanks Cliff. I found one on eBay that I'm hoping is the right size. I'll let you know.

My last effort to find a two piece oil pan before I put mine on. 2459530-d29b851a7c897ab3d2f97efa0b1c2f26.jpg If anyone has one that they want to sell let me know.

Stephen, if I may. . . Inspect the inside of that oil pan very closely. Mine had a couple pin holes naked to the eye. It leaked pretty bad out of rear portion so I thought it was rear main seal. Good luck bro

The picture is what I'm looking for. I have two standard ones that are in good shape but really want a two piece if I can find one. I don't have very high hopes though. If I don't find one for this motor maybe I will for my old one. I do plan on fixing that one soon.

"So apparently my head studs cause Cancer and Reproductive Harm."

This is a valid concern. The sharp thread edges can cause serious cuts to the reproductive tract, so the state has to warn people.

The two piece pan is only an advantage if you are running an 11" clutch. A 9" or 10" clutch can be removed without having to remove a one piece pan. You still have to remove the engine or trans to remove any of the clutches. Personally I like the cleaner look of the normal one piece pan.

Actually, I just remembered you do not have the stock clutch. is that why you want the two piece? Have you tried to see if the clutch can be fitted and removed with the pan in place? There is a little notch near the top of the bellhousing that allows a tiny bit better access to the clutch pressure plate bolts. (Good for a 10").

    Mart.

Thanks again. I appreciate it. I had already bought one before I read your post. I definitely would have waited for you to look for one. I don't know for sure I bought the right one. I'll know soon.

I can get the clutch off without removing the pan but not the flywheel. It's kind of a pain in the ass. The two piece is more of a want than a need. It could make things a little easier though.

Try a couple local guys for the pan
54caddy- Josh has a stockpile of flathead stuff and he's in NH
Pete- I bought my two piece pan from him
    You can PM these guys
Also, call Ricky at Rayco, he probably has one but sometimes hard to reach. Best to show up over there. Well worth the trip

I messaged Pete with no problem. When I tried to message Josh I couldn't. Is 54caddy right?

  16. Hey Stephen,
Mart is right,,,the 4 hole washer on the flywheel is to retain the dowels in the crank.
The odds are ,,they will not move anyway,,,,but,,,,,,at some point in time they might .
Also,,,,,they probably did when Ford first started,,,,otherwise they would not have spent the effort to add this .
Those engines were designed very well,,,,as time went on,,,,they improved things as they went,,so the dowel issue could be a moot point .

Yeah. It sounded like the right thing to do so I made sure to put the washer and the safety wire on. I had one on my new motor to use luckily.

Got the bolt and put it on today. It was the one. Thanks again for the offer and the engine stand adapter is working out very well. I'll be finished with it soon.:)

    Stephen,
Glad things are moving along and the adapter helps.

Did you find yourself a two piece oil pan assembly?

No I didn't find one but I'm going to keep looking so when I fix my old motor I can put it on that.

Blue One, I think most all of us knew what Stephen meant. Maybe he didn't get as far in the spelling bee as you, but that doesn't matter.
What does matter is that nit picking attack posts like this last one of yours greatly detract from the image you should be due from your obvious knowledge of things automotive and the superior craftsmanship of your build,

It's corrective text on a phone. I've seen that one quite often. Not all these posts are written on a qwerty keyboard on a PC while sitting at a desk.

On the paint, I just buy it by the quart and shoot it with my Devilbis primer gun. The spray cans are probably the same stuff. Sorry for the late reply. I haven't been through threads for a while now.

Funny, spellcheck doesn't change it on my phone, when I spell it right!

    Thanks but you misunderstood.

It’s humor rather than nit picking or attacks.

That doesn’t always come through in print posts obviously.

Of course it was understood as it was but using the proper word conveys accurate meaning.

Its meant more as good natured ribbing than
    criticism.

I always like to jump on teaching moments, just part of my nature.

I haven't been on here in a little while. I've been busy with other things. I just saw there's a whole to do about my spelling error. Wow! I've written quite a bit on here and other places and it's funny, every time I make a spelling mistake it always gets noticed and pointed out. Usually followed up by a joke. lol. No big deal. I think I'm up to 3 now which for me is pretty good because I can't spell for shit. Thanks @dirty old man and @Mart for coming to my defense. It's my own fault for clicking on the spellcheck without reading it first and not proof reading it well enough. Just so no one gets confused like @Blue One I've corrected the spelling.;)

:D I wasn’t confused, just poking a little bit of funny in your direction.

Funny isn’t always recognized or understood by everyone.

    We’re all different that way.

Thanks @Koz I've had good luck with the 2k cans. Eastwood makes great stuff. It's only to do some touch-up so I think one can will be good. How's the Vicky coming along?
