This is such a wonderful build. The car has so many subtle overlooked features because of the craftsmanship. The work you have done in the build photos should be made into a book. The car is so well done and thought out that it should be a multiple award winner.

I am in awe of the car so far, been tempted to see the finished product but I've resisted. Your shops' skills are top notch and among the best in the country from what I've seen in this thread. Can't wait to see the finished masterpiece. There are SO many cool and intricate styling details that would go unnoticed if not for watching this thread if I were to see the car in person. I had a '56 Ranch Wagon a long time ago, and they've always been one of my favorite cars. Yeah, Ford should've built this car. They would have put the Nomad to shame. Hold the hate mail you Chevy guys.

I just got back from the Autorama and seeing the wagon for the second time. Reading this thread and seeing it again was great. As I explained all the work you guys have done to my wife and daughter I noticed a few other folks listening and as amazed as us. That’s one beautiful car and amazing workmanship. Wow. You really should set up a couple of those digital slideshows so everyone can see the craftsmanship behind this subtle beauty.

It's sure good to see projects like this!
I had thought that the art of metal work was all but gone.
Not so much with me, I'm more of a chassis and engine guy, but builds like these have run in my family for decades. These (family) cars were built as drivers first and show cars second, but the dedication to the fabrication to make them look factory was first priority.
    I love this Ford!!!

Wow. This certainly should be a pinned build thread. Amazing work here.

Any chance this car is coming to the Boise Roadster Show in March so I can see it in person? Please?

  12. Thanks for the positive review. We're working on setting up a deal on the other side opposite of the sign that shows more about whats been done. Plus I forgot our build book o_O

  13. Unfortunately we're going to miss Boise. We where planning on it but the owner's going to be gone & my kids have some important things going on that weekend. We're hoping next year'll work out.

  14. Sorry for the break in updates. We just got back from Sacramento with the car.

Next up was just getting all the Mechanical work all buttoned up along with getting the engine ready for the machine shop etc.

    Outstanding workmanship!
I see the new Rodders Journal will have a picture of the artist rendering of your project.

What AC compressor is that and is it big enough for the wagon? I'm looking for one for a project with a 365 Cadillac. Thanks, love this thread.

  18. It's a Sanden SD-7 compressor. They're compact but work well. We made all the brackets to make it low & hidden.

Thanks so much. That's the direction I needed. Now I'm really following this thread.

  20. This rendering should be made into a faux dealer brochure

  22. Found this really cool license plate frame for the car early on. Bob (the owner) lives in Richland WA. The Tri Cities are known for the Hanford nuclear site where they made Bombs & what not for WWII. Richland High School are the Bombers. Bob's an alum. Just a neat piece of Richland history and heritage.

  23. Once we got all the panels aligned and the car ready for paint we prepped it to take some photos. This is sorta un-necessary but it was exciting for us to get the car out of the shop, all stand back & drink a few Rainiers.

Just AMAZING !!! When I was a kid, we had a 55 Ranch wagon, in high school (65) a couple friends had 55 Crown Vicks. this takes everything to a much higher level. Thank You .
