"Basically" - an overused "simplification" word used to eliminate
the need for a full explanation of the facts about anything.
For example: It's basically a fine running car.

“Needs restored”. Instead of restoring. I don’t why but I cringe every time I read that.
“Price point” I don’t see this one around the forums too often, but hear it every day. Ugh!

"I can't wait"...to see your new paint job, to see this when it is finished, etc. What ya going to do, see it any way?
And sentences that start with So.

Blame it on the Australians. They started it. Now it's spread to the US like coronavirus.

"Would make an awesome gasser." And it's an ad for something like a rusty '61 full size four door whatever.

And don't get me started on all of the jackassery that gets spawned from watching drama laden "car shows".

My pals' Nova was primed and we always heard "when ya gonna paint it"?
His response was usually "it is painted".

I hate seeing the word "install" used where we use to say "installation". What used to be an installation kit is now an install kit. Changing your intake manifold should be an "easy install".

“Is that one of them kit cars?”

    Or

“Must be nice to call 1-800-hotrod and snap it together”

If I hear either of these I know they’ve never built a car or really anything.

Some are just automatic pauses to let the mind "like" catch up"you know" to the speach. Some are trendy expressions. I think the majority of us here are not herd followers
