No definitely not 1933 willys 77. Mine started out like this. (can't open image, says file too big)
    I'll send you a message.
I got a friend of mine to reduce image size.

That doesn't look so rough to me. My 77 arrived wadded up into the back of a pickup truck.

  5. If you look closer you'll notice it's on a right hand drive truck frame from a Willys Jeep panel delivery truck. The steering box is sticking out through the grille shell. I bought a bunch of the parts off of it when it was in the "Tin Man's Garage" shop. I passed on the front end as it was really rough.

Is it just my perspective or is the beautiful Prock and Howell car in post #2736 a stretch wheelbase car? If it is, I wonder if it's a Dennis Taylor body? I have one of those for sale as a roller if anyone is interested. PM me if you are.

It would be a really unique car to finish, but I already have a couple other project cars and it comes down to time and money, especially at age 67.

  12. That car was built in the 1960's. It has a Logghe chassis, it's a funny car. The whole body tilts up. Pretty sure there were no Dennis Taylor bodies in the 60's

Thanks. The Prock and Howell car's a beauty and taking the photo with it standing on the wet surface just makes it stand out even more.

RE: Dennis Taylor....I've found some things on the internet about him, but not a whole lot specific to Willys. Is there a website somewhere that my searches haven't found where I could find out more about what he did? I found that he was in Arkansas, and possibly sold his molds but haven't found a trace of them still being offered. I'm just speculating (more like a wild guess) that my Willys body and chassis was built maybe 12-15 years ago. Would that have been a time that he was active producing bodies?

    Thanks.

  14. From what I remember I started hearing the Dennis Taylor name as far as Willys bodies in the late 1990's early 2000's

Thanks again. I guess the age estimate on my 'glass '33 stretch Willys body and frame might be a bit low, but who knows? I guess estimating an age on it might be more accurate to think 15+ years.

I’m not sure the exact timeline but Dennis sold the molds to Midwest Willy’s Reproductions. Bill Lewis 217-257-2057

One of the cleanest and most beautiful Willys around at the time. I saw this car after Jim had the top chopped, that was around 73.

Some I found in my files. This was Jack's Steel 33 Willys with the engine from his record holding B/GS 39 Willys coupe. He ran it only 1 year till the Glass 33 chopped top BBC car was built. The steel car's claim to fame is that it beat Ohio George at the US National in Indy, I think that was 66.
