  2. Black divider panel and side panels, grey carpeted mat. Stock black wheel with stock dog dish hubcap. Tools and jack hidden in recessed area behind wheel. Simple and traditional in my mild custom 53 Ford tudor.

  9. I know I have a better trunk shot somewhere, but here is the best one I can get to load up here of Taboo's trunk.

Guess I'm kinda different. Right now I'm building some trucks, but hope to begin purchasing parts for a 32 coupe this spring. Actually I already bought the motor. Body is next. I think I'm just gonna spray bed liner in the trunk. Might make a few aluminum panels for the sides to prevent denting the body from inside the trunk......but I would coat them too. Just never wanted a trunk that wasn't really functional. Don't mean any disrespect for those of you who did nice jobs on your trunk, but it's just not what I want in mine.

  18. No disrespect on my end, I wanted ideas for myself and others and yours is a great idea if you plan to use it a lot, I had a '35 Chevy 20 years ago that had fiberglass fenders and had lots of "stars" from rocks hitting them, when I repainted the car I sprayed bed liner on the insides of the fenders and that stopped the "starring". When someone is building a show car, I understand the need to finish the trunk in some fashion that garners points. We have all seen pictures of trunks with painted gasoline cans and deluxe upholstery. To me it just seems phony or staged.....but show points is show points. Myself, I want to see an actual toolbox and a cooler in a trunk. On one of the trucks I'm working on, I want to build an actual toolbox that fits in the bed near the cab. It'll be one that has a lid that opens and has an angle on each side of the lid. I got an old Chevy tailgate with the raised letters and I want to embed the logo into the toolbox............but it will be a real box full of actual tools. The bed will have spray in liner in it with tie downs. I found a good floor in a 89 Chevy bed and cut it out. Then I welded it into the new bed. Didn't want fancy wood......I wanted a real truck bed. Anyway, thats the kind of stuff I like, But thats just me.......again, no offense meant to those who spent a lot of money and time making their trunk look good.

  20. Show or Function it's all about what we plan to with our car/truck, no right way or wrong just our way... ;) :)

My 40 coupe done a few years ago. Nice storage area up front. Small wheel tubs required the contoured side panels. The side panels were made from fiberglass. The access hatch is secured with Velcro.

The small fill in covers are covered with ultra leather and glued to the trunk lid. So far after 4 seasons on the road all of this is working well.
