Picked up a 40 sedan a few months back.
I have my Gasser Sedan so this is gonna be a reliable driver for the fam, with a traditional look.

    Plans:
Lowered, Chevy 348 W motor, overdrive, 9in ford, dropped axle.
    Early 60’s vibe:

I don't get the "Truckster build" part in your title. The car and your plans sound great, just don't get the title.

Nice 40. Less is more, I like your ideas. Leave it mostly stock looking with modern power and brakes. Win Win in my book.

Question: This will have all the weight on the front of the engine and rear at the trans mount.
Anyone use a mid plate between the engine and trans to strengthen that? Any recommendations?

Split the bones but haven’t put the Saginaw box in yet. Steering hits the bones a little

I'm sure you ordered the Antarctic Blue Super Sports Wagon but this is a nice alternative.
    What that? Reassigned CA. VIN?

Excellent! At the rate your going, this is gonna be a driver way before mine! After reading some stuff on here about front motor mount and rear tail mount, I had some mid mounts made by Marco when he was fitting it all for me.

This is so cool. Nice car to start with and an interesting choice of engines. How much surgery will be needed in the “X” to make the trans fit?

  25. Looks like a real sold car, I had a '40 very similarly built back in the 70's and it was a great family car, I'll be following the build. HRP

What is the pipe fitting in the middle of the firewall for? Not seen one before, but have wondered why the pressing is there..

That's an optional hot air heater connection. Look at the picture on the op's #8 post and you'll see the heat shroud covering the right exhaust manifold that fed hot air though the firewall.
