Top seat is the back seat from a '06 Jeep TJ,the bottom is a caravan second seat..going with the TJ (wrangler)seat, don't have to upholster it,plus the cushion design doesn't look like it was stolen from a grocery getter. Going to remove the rumble floor pan/toe board and fab a flat floor so I can run tracks, might even cut the parcel deck down ,give a nice full range of adjustment.

Checking in-Watched Groundhog day last night-been a long time...working away on my lil pickup-got the intake on, fuel lines/pump/reg. Had to put a new clutch disc in, old one had separated lining. I still had a very good one from my roadster from when I switched to lightened flywheel/v8 clutch. Thinned the seat back to gain some distance from the steering wheel. Work on stance next. Probably reverse the eyes on front spring and I have a rear spring from @100%Matt I've been wanting to try. Lots o' things!

  7. Checking in....groundhog day is my mom's checking out day also...all's cool....it's where I get that 30wt in my veins...and she loved! all earthly creatures and grease !

Checking in for the month. not much going on in my world as far as banger things. My wife launched her Upholstery business and I have been insulating our garage to make it a bit easier for her to work in there. She will be starting to redo the seats and door panels on a '30 two door soon. I will post a couple of pics as we get into that project. I am looking for a two carb intake that will work with a lake header. I have been considering getting one of those nice looking Gear Drive pieces. I would also consider a nice single intake that will work with a lake header.

Checking in got the hood top on the Vicky and made hood straps for it.
Took it to town for breakfast with the guys the last couple of days.
    Found some 16" x 5" on 5 x 5.5 for the 7.50 x 16 tires.

Sport coupe body,Today I drilled out a bunch of waffle rivets took the front rumble floor pan and toe box out to make a flat floor, have some seat tracks from forklift chairs might make it a slider..Sport coupe is nice for leg room, take this floor section out and remove the parcel tray and you can really have the leg room..going to mock it up with the parcel deck in and see. The jeep seat looks better than the caravan chair..

  13. Alive, sort off - that dad stuff is alot of work!
Picked up a model T frame day before yesterday, but cross members were broke and poorly fixed, so seller gave me an extra set with it - turned out to be an earlier frame, and later cross members, as the rear one is steeper than the one in the frame, resulting in a lower ride height. Great, but when loading it into the car, I pushed it too far and cracked windshield in my dayly driven '67 221, and when unloading, I broke off the driver side mirror... just my luck.
Plan is to put in the drive line, I've been building for years to be in an A frame (G28T engine, speed head, Simmons Swan intake with B carb, B gear box, A axles), when current project is driving.
Also, was given a set of Model B universal joint housings (Clam Shells), as previous B-box owners apparently have a tendency to leave them on the driveshaft - have two boxes, but only now I have two u-joint housings. So, to save this headache for future rodders; if you're pulling a B box, please put the u-joint housings on the box!

  17. Over 60 years ago I had a pair of 1 1/2" S.U.'s on an M.G. race engine. Many a time I wished I had Strombergs for the accelerator pumps on them! But, they'll probably do for you application I you don't have to push'um!

So far what I did was got the stock axles dropped reverse main springs front and rear with a few springs removed in the rear and a mild z frame in the rear, I bought a manifold and carb from a fellow on the Hamb, would like to find a head and distributor if anybody has one ,, and going to do a t5 with a closed driveshaft conversation

    @luckylou cool PU!

Checking-in is the thing to do...
OHV head out for a rebuild here, then rockers out there. Meanwhile, dizzy and water pump is here and there, plus B carb is somewhere (not yet sure where). Hardware plating is over there, and I can't remember the rest.

High quality modern silicone based sealants work well.I use threebond, but permatex ultra grey works good too,a thin film on all gaskets and a good seam along the corners of the pan where it fit the crank seal.Fit and trim your pan gasket prior to assembly..The goal is to have just a trace of sealant squeeze out on all gaskets. When using the modern seal shown above bed it in a thin bead of sealant.also use sealant sparingly on the threads of bolts that screw blindly into the crankcase/valve gallery.

The key to using sealant is be sparing with it but through..overuse is dangerous,a ball the size of a pea can clog a main bearing feed tube..done correctly you can have a leak free model a (within reason :) )

Just get the rods all fixed good and add some Teds Floaters, and cast iron drums, or 32-35 axle and brakes ( with the Teds floaters).

Stock is good if it is done right. Some of the things people have tried have backfired and made things worse, OR caused oil starvation at the bearings.

  29. front and rear seals were my main concern. I know there are modern seals and stuff out there but no experience. the rear ones require a pan modification right? Oh and this is a B block.

I fully agree....I can slide the tires on the pavement on my Model A's with mechanical brakes. They have cast iron drums, bonded shoes and Teds floaters. The stock steel drums expand as they get hot and the brakes fade away. Also it all in getting all the worn out components replaced up and setting up the geometry they way Henry sent it from the factory. My cars with hydraulics seem to always need a master or wheel cylinder worked on or leaked fluid and messed up paint. Talk to Randy Gross at Mels Model A Parts & Services [email protected] or 714-292-8660. for the cast iron drums and bonded shoes. If you take the drums off your hubs, it took a little head scratching, but I was able to get all the shoes and hubs in a large flat rate USPS box to send to him. He had them done and shipped in a day. He throws the invoice in the box and has you send a check...old school.
My buddy just did a Boling Brothers hydraulic conversion on a fellows Model A. The new backing plates really aren't set up for a model A rear axle spring perch location and you can't get to the bleeder on the slave cylinder.. It then winds up not being a bolt on. They had over $2500 in parts and it really didn't stop any better when they were done. I believe it was probably as a result of keeping the stock pedals and insisting on a dual master cylinder ....the pedal ratio thing.....my $.03
Good luck...I understand wanting to have good brakes....
