I loved the model T panel that you took I believe just the front of. It was next to the Hamb building.

There is a custom silver and red '55 or '56 T-Bird at the pinstripers end of building 4. The poor thing looks like it was styled after a '58-9 T-Bird. I've tried twice to load a pic, it's not happening. It might be because the thing is too ugly. Sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings.

I talked to Jerry at the Mecum Auction at the Monterey Hyatt years ago before someone restored it. Classy show, right? So Jerry is trying to sell this thing there and guess what would make it look even more unappealing than the the styling? The fact that he was showing it there after there had been an engine fire and the front end was all burned melted lead all dripping off!! I swear.

We're talking about this creature, right? Yeech. It's a bad angle to show the low front grill but it's shaped like a Square Bird's grill. The side pipe may have been the inspiration for the pink pimp Eldorado in 'Dirty Harry'.

This is Moreland’s original Project 40. The paint is 35 year old lacquer and now restored to as close as it was when it ran at Bayland’s in the 80’s with help from Moreland, Bauder, Vogele, and many others.

I think I ran across you at the show Tom. We've never met and I don't know you or what you look like, but another guy was shooting this rod the same time I was. The battery on my camera had died, so I was using my backup camera to grab a few last shots on Thursday. I got those same cars on those same spots at what looks about like the same light angle as you did, so I'm pretty sure that was you next to me. Sorry I didn't say hello. Next time....

I haven't heard, but I'm pulling for Stokers, that was the nicest car IMO, and I'd love to see the local guys win it. That would be a huge boost for them.

One of the more classic examples of pin the judging sheet to the shop wall and start adding modifications to get every point available on the list no matter how screwy they look as long as you get the points.
The actual best looking car in the class quite often didn't win the award in that time frame due to points for mods counts.

Actually the story is that the car was involved in an accident AFTER it was originally built. The owner then modified/customized/whatever it dealing with the damage done in the accident.
Here is the car in original configuration at the Oakland Roadster Show in 1955.

Sometimes it pays to dig into the story a little deeper.
