I moved this to the main board. the traditional hot rod forum is no place for a discussion on radial tires

  8. Nice looking tires and radials are traditional, in France, where Michelin has made them since the 40’s. Oh, and I like Poutine as well.

@4speed411 ,what size are these neat looking tyres?
As far as I know coker only does the pie crust radials in 15”. Diamondback has the market cornered.

Seems a few sets are getting miles on them now, curious if anyone that has them as had the excelsior’s previously and could compare them?

the website takes a while to figure out. I seem to recall them being $40 ish more a tire than firestone bias plies. Compared to the $100 ish more a tire for excelsiors.

  18. I'm a little reluctant to try the Excelsior's as the tread is fairly aggressive, almost like a dirt/hill climb cycle. I'd be concerned as to how noisy they are on the highway.

The Diamondbacks have a street tire tread.

Some rows missing, but this is the best I could find for the price of the Auburn Deluxe radials without calling them. I've been looking for blackwall 700R15 or 820R15, and the price seems to be about the same between these and coker's bias ply offerings, not including tubes. The bottom radial tire squish/ flattening doesn't seem too noticeable on these either.

Excelsiors don’t look any more aggressive than anything else? 6FCDA00A-7F6C-4CA5-9F54-139AC9C7FAF5.jpeg Diamond backs for comparison 9BC7ACD7-CD85-403F-A3E3-14DD3F2064FA.jpeg Seems the excelsiors have more cross sipping but but no more than a modern tire?

@Malcolm had probably gone threw more sets of the excelsiors than anyone else I know. I’m sure he could tell you if they are louder than anything else?

Tire costs are unreal. Your new tires do look nice.

  27. You think it's bad? We get to tack another 30% onto those prices up here.:(

Look nice. I'd buff off the word "radial", to not so easily give away to onlookers that they're radials.
