History What do dislike about our hobby?

Expressing a desire for something special or something you desire has been construed by some as bitching however they’re the type of guys that never want for anything and never get upset about anything

I love the hobby, and time spent building my RPU has been some of the best time of my life.

 

Arguing with the damn State car inspector....always makes me jump through hoops to get a title. And watching my tools rust every time I crank up my garage heater when It's cold and damp outside....

And to piggyback on the original poster's complaint: Changing the clutch in my 55 ford on a gravel parking lot when the trans up-ends to pour 90 weight in my HAIR! [yeah, I actually had hair once] Took a week to get it all out.

 

people polluting traditional hotrod forums with cars that were NEVER used for traditional hotrods. Like International trucks and Ramblers. I have nothing against Internationals. They must have been great logging trucks but they were NEVER used for hotrods.

Anti-freeze. I cant stand the stuff. Like some greasy, oily, toxic water you cant get off your hands. I really don't like it.

 

like pretty much everything about this hobby 'cept 2 things;
prices...on just 'bout everything involved. (so I adapt, make or barter for just about everything that I can)
and some of the bickering to all out arguing that goes on on this site. (so I usually just shut it off and go to bed)

I pay way too much money for health insurance...If I dont wanna ride with a helmet or wear a seat belt I shouldn't have too...no ones gonna have to pay my medical bills if something happens, I got it covered so leave me the fuck alone.

I did't read all the prior postings, so I don't know if this has been mentioned.. Mine is having to fix/repair/redo/tear out, a prior owners so-called '"work". I hate that! I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

The only thing I dislike is all the { R.I.P. } threads. Too many friends, and HAMB'ers gone! We lost so many great Hot Rodders lately. I know it's a part of life. But it still sucks! Ron......

 

Idiots with Gas Monkey shirts trying to talk cars and say I should have done this like on Gas monkey etc... I swear I may slap a fool one day soon.

 

I guess I am confused, I only know how to drive with left arm on the door unless turning into a parking spot.... Those who do not have left arm on top of door are the kind of folks with billet motors and easter egg paint job, or over 80 years old and get a free pass.

I first posted a picture of a 55 International and someone got their panties in a wad and deleted it because you could see the tiniest sliver of what appeared to be a billet wheel on the drivers side front in an almost straight on front picture.

It was a very nice truck regardless.
So, here's one that while not as nice will do the job.

I believe you might have a hard time finding a 1955 International truck built before 1965 as a hot rod.

 

My dislike is those that assume real hotrodders can put their left arm on the top of the door. If the rodders over here did that, they'd be sitting backwards. Same in a lot of other countries.

 

Maybe so but that doesn’t matter to me and it still doesn’t change the fact that they make a really cool truck.
