I started an air cleaner for a Ford 2 barrel carb, from a die-cast "heat-master" heater housing... made the base... used a porcelyn commode cover to fill the hole the deflector had been in...
try and dig it up for a pic tomorrow...

I like fins an so that's fairly cool really to me. I'd like it even better if polished to high shine=would get away from looking to some like just a brake drum.

That much weight is going to warp your carburetor

If you could get to spin while the engine was running . We could call it an early prototype turbo. That would get peoples head scratching..

I can't tell if I'm looking at an engine or an R2D2 prototype.

  18. I can appreciate the work that went into making such a detailed piece but I wouldn't use it on my car. HRP

I bet that weighs quite a bit!

I second the comment about making it into a clock. Or a lamp or something, haha! You can turn just about anything into a clock or a lamp :D

What next? a spinner hubcap for an air cleaner lid!

The only thing wrong with the 1st example is the machined circles near the centre.

Some people forsake engineering for art, but, in the end, math and engineering always win.

Looks like the top of a lawn mower engine.
