I'm just not diggin that yellow on the Custom 300 above. It just needs the "yellow cab company" decal on it. Whereas the Del Rio wagon 2 pics above with the Inca gold/ Colonial white looks fantastic.

I really need to lower the front end. I used Aerostar coils on an Edsel wagon and it was damn near touching pavement. Too low for Indiana. Any recommendations ?

Buddy of mine used the Aerostar springs with a 1" spacer on his 57 and it came out perfect with a much improved ride.

Jeff it is a top cap style, he got it from O'Rilies (SP?), don't know the brand. His good friend was commercial sales manager at the store a found a bunch of stuff for him over the years. Mike, my buddy, is computer limited and used the store looking up stuff. I will try to find out and post back.

I did some research a while back and found several in the Summit inventory but elected to cut my Ranchero coils. May go with the Aerostar if the ride turns out to be too harsh .

  17. On my '59, I just took 1 coil out of the stock springs and it sits pretty well. The next time I have it apart, I will take another 1/2 coil out of them. There is another Moog spring I like better.. same as the Aerostar but with a 1 on the end instead of a 0.

I saw this car around 5 years ago at a car show in Langley, B.C.. It was for sale and by the looks like it went to Europe.

Scoob.... I checked the Eaton Spring website and spoke to a rep there..$189 a pair for 57-59.. and for 40 bucks more they can make the springs 1-2 inches lower or higher....

I think Eaton is the ticket.....I just want fresh springs. Not 60 year old ones.

I don’t remember the brand but I believe they were for a rear of a Toyota pickup which have the same inner and outer diameter size. I have a 3/8” on one side and a 1/2” on the other of my 56fairlane as I didn’t want it too low with Aerostars. Bought them from Summit after I used the 2 diameters to find them.

vintage picture from 1960 looks like rust may already be started in the rockers thumbnail.jpg

  28. L.O.L, I think 57 Fords came from the Factory with rust growing in them.
