I love this, and I would like to hear what specific pieces were used from what body and in what location, as I have a similar pile of '34 Ford stuff and am wanting to stitch another one together.

I'd say it is a great day just to see Jim posting and doing some building. That coupe is going to be wicked.

Thanks for all of the response. I have had this car in my head for years. It is going to be over the top, plans include, center seating, 325 hp 327, glide and a lot of salt influence.

Sorry, that can't be done. You can't build that cool looking 3 window from JUNK ! Gotta be trick photography...or Photoshop...or something. Nope, not buying it. Can't be done;).

I just saved the side shot and the front view to my screen saver. Good luck with the build. You will do great. Thanks for the post. Gary

It truly was all junk. The roof is from a rusted out 57 Buick 4d hard top, cowl was a 34 4 door that a guy gave me when he bought a clean one from me, his was smashed flat on the drivers side. Door skins are trade ins when people bought good ones from me a few years back. Quarters are from the pictured back half of a 2 door sedan, and the grey roof pieces were from a smashed 5w that got a better one grafted onto it. Hood is from a 41 international 1 ton and grill , I believe is from a 40 ford. It was also a gimme because a few teeth are broke free. It just a pile of crap that I want to make a cool pile of crap from.

  16. I love what you are doing - tons of work, but well worth it for a 33/34! I'm watching this one.
btw - I think that front end is going to be way cool.

Glad that you and your unfathomable skills are back.
That chassis is nuts. What's the story behind it?

Mission accomplished already. What powerplant & drivetrain? I see a PG? mocked on the floor.

If you say a set back stack injected something with a quickchange, I will smile.

Hmmmm......I think it will require a “Salvage Title”.......:D

Seriously, though, very impressive! Looking forward to watching it progress.

It’s getting a cross ram, dual quad 327, and a 9 inch. I actually want to race this thing when I’m done. The chassis is something I built. Kinda going for a sprint car meets digger look.

  23. Jim, you have captured the essence of hot rodding; cobbling a vehicle together from bits and pieces and seeing it through to its running conclusion. I would like to be a fly on the wall (or standing nearby) when a "restorer" tells you "you shouldn't have cut up that '34!" What a moment. Great work, watching intently.

I don't think I would ever paint it. The story is in the slices. What great vision to piece such a cool car together. Not many people could ever do it. Totally awesome. Gary

  25. FrankenCoupe! Kinda like the one KiwiKev has. All pieces....Looks great! If you get rid of all the welds, nobody would ever believe your story. haha

It amazes me the cars that people crush when there are craftsmen who can do this with a pile of scrap.
