With so many welcoming people, it's no wonder why our numbers are dwindling.

That is why Ryan added the "Antiquated" section to the HAMB, several happy HAMB buyers. Happy New Year! Bob

Looking at the bolt (to head) pattern, it is definitely not a Dodge. The bolt patterns for Chrysler and De Soto appear similar, but of course are different dimensionally. I think if Chrysler, they will fit 331s, 354s, and 392s. I think DeSoto increased their deck height along the way as displacement was increased, so an early manifold might fit a 341/345 with a spacer, but a later manifold would need planing to fit a 276/291. Whether this is feasible depends on how thick the flanges are initially. Google "Hot Heads Hemi" and go to their website, and give them a call. They should be able to answer this stuff over the phone. They have a really good catalog that covers these things.

Look in their website under each marque's "intake" section, and you can find how much various new intakes cost.
Divide that number by 10, add $15 for the carbs, and give me a call.

Holiwood1, I really can’t tell you anything more about this then the obvious. It’s an Edmonds intake manifold. When I come across parts like this that I need to know more about I start looking for markings that will help me to identify the part and it’s application. There is probably a database on the internet that will have information on Edmonds intakes but I’m sure you’ll find the application charts will want you to require a part number or something that makes it intended engine family clear. Once you do that you can then look for parts like it that are listed for sale and figure out what it might be worth.. Look for numbers on the parts..

    To all,
I thank the members who have offered their professional and experienced opinion on my post. I wanted to point out, I have researched many sites for information on my manifold. Every search engine led me to this site, so I created a brief profile in order to ask the right people.
I get it, it’s a site for extreme car enthusiasts. I didn’t post a picture of furniture, it’s a car part that is older and no history attached.
I know everyone including myself loves a story, so here it is,
I’m a plumber In New York and have been for thirty two years. Back in the mid to late eighties I roughed in a basement bathroom for a friend of a friend, who at the completion, was going through a rough divorce and payed me the balance with rolled silver coins and car parts, which he said, “ these are worth a lot of money, I’m sorry but it’s all I have right now”. That is how I obtained the manifold and a 1957 GM 3 speed tranny.
The parts were placed in my mother’s garage and when she passed in 2012, I was cleaning out the garage and took them home.
I’m not, a money fist. I earned what I have, I worked hard for it. So there it is!
I had many cool rides as a kid and was a huge GTO guy, thanks to a neighbor, who had knowledge and heart, he shared all of his knowledge and skills. I have a love for cars, but a wife, house and family took priority.
I apologize if I have corrupted the harmony of this site, it was not my intention, I just wanted help from the right people, and will not waste energy responding to shallow comments.

That's a very cool story on how it survived, and how you obtained it. You did absolutely nothing incorrect by asking for ID help, as it been done countless times in the past here by people who joined to get an ID...either something their father had in the shed, or whatever.

Somebody yet might be able to give a correct ID, so check back.

Holiwood1 - don't let the folks that feel they are superior to everyone get you down; there are some really nice folks here, many with an incredible amount of car knowledge.

I cannot help with the intake, other than the obvious.

The carburetors are Carter type WCD, possibly from some year of Buick.

Both carburetors have tags. The tags will have identification numbers in the form of nnns or nnnns where the "n's" represent numbers (either 3 or 4 of them) and the "s" is just that, an "s". An example from a 1955 Buick would be 2179s.

Once you have determined the number:

Use Google (or your preferred search engine) and do the following search:

Brand number without the "s" followed by www.thecarburetorshop.com

    Example:

    Carter 2179 www.thecarburetorshop.com

This should take you to a page on my website. From this page, use the "find on this page" command on your browser, and enter the number without the "s". This should take you to the exact carburetor application, assuming the carburetor is an original equipment carburetor, and not aftermarket.

    And welcome!

    Jon.

  12. It would still be a big help if you could find some numbers on it. If it's a hemi application, it will bring a nice chunk of change. Either way, it's a cool part and is valuable...

As an Edmunds part, it's unlikely to have any numbers. My Olds Edmunds intake only has a B on the underside, and that might be because it was the second design that Edmunds made for the early Olds. The matching Edmunds Olds air cleaners and valve covers have no markings at all.

I assume it's a fairly uncommon Edmunds intake if it has not been quickly ID'ed here. (Edmunds made countless applications of intakes). If that is the case, the value will far exceed a more common intake like the Olds or Flathead Ford. It won't be even close to the lower value of mine, so it would be pointless to compare prices of other types of Edmunds intakes.

Holiwood1 welcome to the site. Some helpful tips. There are some tough SOBs here for various reasons and they are very protective of the site. Develop a thick skin and take what you need for info and ignore the rest. It seems to be typical for a newbie to get jumped on if it appears they have not contributed much to the site so fill out your bio so folks have an idea of who you are. Sorry I can't help on the intake and carbs but there are some very knowledgeable folks here so someone will probably nail what they are.

  18. Appears as others have stated, the Edmunds is a Chrysler unit. Hit that previously posted Ebay link, & study the pictures.

Also .. it appears those 830 SA tag #'s were used on 51-54 Chrysler & some Desoto. So another lean in on Chrysler.

    Arkie's post earlier & pictures >>

Some of you guys are eager to knock the OP when he might be the next Pete Eastwood. You dont know. Also there is nothing wrong with his first post and nothing wrong if he never makes a second post. I went to a backhoe forum for information on how to repair my backhoe. Got what I needed and may never go back. I'm certainly not interested in backhoe forums, just want to keep mine going.

It would be helpful to post a picture with a measuring tape along the underside of the ports. Chrysler has wider spacing than Desoto, and Dodge narrower yet.

  22. O/P, your mission has been to determine the EXACT make and year of this intake manifold. ALL hemi's are not the same. They were built by Desoto, Chrysler, Plymouth and Dodge. 241 to 426 all had different head heights and thus different intake manifolds.

I am with those that approve of the O/P's posting. If the rest of you yahoo's had your way, guys like this would never come here and we would miss out on a lot of rare pieces. I thought he explained his situation perfectly. He will probably get a lot more money out of this than he ever thought, but that's a function of the market, not the O/P.

Years ago I bought a 331 hemi out of an old CrisCraft boat and it had a similar intake setup. Each carb had a brass scoop shaped spark arrester.

funny how one guy is a dick to a new guy and others feel the need to join in. many posts go with a theme of replies until someone comes up with a different outlook then the discussion changes. a great many people have no mind of their own and go along with the crowd. this happens quite a bit here.

I'm on an old bicycle forum and non bike people chime in all the time with some old bike they found. people help ID it and give a value. so what if they are going to sell it? bike people don't care, we just don't want it ending up in the dumpster.

  28. I think that Charlie Price a Vintagespeed bought all the Edmunds stuff a number of years ago... maybe he will have some information.
    From his website: http://vintagespeed.com/
"I have a personal collection of Edmunds parts—I buy all Edmunds intakes –heads–valve covers, paperwork, catalogs or other interesting stuff. Collecting Edmunds Speed parts is a real task as you never seem to find them all. Cash to you or trade for any of our items. Email me—thanks. I know Edmunds built a new building at 2042 Stoner ave in `west L.A. -Ca. in 1952–Do any of you L.A. guys know if it is still there? Note—I would like to hear from anyone collecting edmunds parts or If you have any info on the company.

    Edmund’s Custom is a registered trademark of Charlie Price-Vintage Speed- U.S. reg.#3,113,442"

    good luck,
