I miss BobK. That guy did it right. 200,000 miles on that Chevy convertible with a stovebolt 6 in it, all over the country. Still building and collecting cool shit right up until the last day. I assume he must have had some late model something-or-other but I never saw it. Parked his '62 Corvette on the street in downtown Milwaukee and left it there in the middle of the night to get a good parking spot for Cheaterama with no fear. He could hang out with us "young guys" and we all looked up to him like he sat at the right hand of God. The ultimate ambassador of custom cars. I aspire to be half as cool as he was when I'm his age.

Anyone (at any age) worried about the hobby drying up or "age-ing out" or worried about the "market" can take a page from his book. That's how you inspire new people to get in on a hobby.

  21. I know a guy who is 75. His wife died and he bought a 57 chervy htp. He got to thinking he was a kid again. Was humping a 26 year old babe. Actually thought he was king of the world until she gave him a dose of the Bull head clap! He gave it up real quick and sold the 57.

No offense but I did not expect the largest age group to be between 61-70. Thought it would be younger.

  24. I have been on this planet for 61 years. Of course you have to consider the time on my own planet, unfortunately we calculate it differently.

I wasn't in that age group when I joined the HAMB! I wasn't even a grandpa yet!
