Sure miss this Christmas look. Growing up in Inglewood, Ca. Market street was covered from Florence, past Manchester, all the way to the A&P where Market met La Brea. Other cities were doing the same thing. The Sears Roebuck big window on Manchester and Hillcrest was a kids dream. I know things change but being a kid in the 50's was fun....
My brother has the largest collection of CASE cars know the oldest 1911 newest 1914 all brass era cars all beautifully resotred. These cars were built in the Case tractor factory. They used a Pierce Racine T head 30 and 40 hp engines. The Pierce motors were designed by the brother of Pierce Arrow fame. Case cars were of extreme hi quality and are big and powerful machines. The 1912 touring has been driven over 10,000 miles since it was restored in 1960. 3 round trips to Nevada for Harrah's Reno tours and several HCCA tours on the west coast. This car is a strong runner and out performs many of its counterparts of the same era. The photo is of a 1912 model 40. brasscarguy
Then I am sure your brother knew Herb. He had a 1911 or '12 and 1927, not sure of the other years. Unfortunately Herb died about a year ago. He had many Case items the Case museum didn't have.
Our family passed around a white elephant fruitcake 5 or 6 years until my wife ground it up and made cookies out of it. Gave them to her brother she doesn't like.
