Just wanted to show the Y-block valve cover adapters. Pretty straight forward except the late model 5.0 uses a channel to pair the rockers. I welded 1/2" bar to bottom of the adapter to create a notch to clear the channel. The adapter would look better if it followed the squareness off the Y-block instead of the Windsor head. All in all in happy with the result. 20191216_184747.jpg 20191216_184735.jpg 20191216_142107.jpg 20191216_142115.jpg 20191216_142119.jpg 20191216_142130.jpg 20191216_143624.jpg

So how does it feel to be a poser ? :D:D

Just think instead of a fake Y Block you could have had a real one. :D

Impressive fabrication, but imho I would have used Cal Custom alloy pieces and embraced the Windsor design. No shame in a SBF. Good work!

I've seen them on sbc engines and they look more convincing than on a Ford. Besides that I think they look great.

Nice execution but the whole idea doesn't sit well with me.

I’m in Canada and I had Tim Mcmaster build my engine and then I went and picked it up in California.

Don't know anyone named Will but I do know a Make Do. Hoping to get another car that's not been modded so I can build an authentic traditional build.

Apparently it’s ok to swap bumpers, head lights, tail lights, hubcaps, grills, dashes, seats, suspensions, engines, trans ......
    But not valve covers.
    Lol
    Enjoy.

Don’t get me wrong, GP is a hot rodder’s hot rodder but just cause a rich guy does it doesn’t make it cool. I’m surprised Lane did that but then when you’re getting obscene money to build a hot rod one may flex their standards some.
As for your other examples, they’re not quite the same thing. Now if you’re putting a Quick Change back cover on a 9”, that’s the same thing.

Overhead oilers are a hack fix from back in the day to correct (?) a known Y-block oiling problem, getting oil to the rockers when the passages (in the block) were clogged. Invariably poorly installed, and a red flag to anyone buying a car with the setup installed....
