All I saved this year was a 49 Dodge pickup. Came with a Dakota 4x4 chassis. So then I had to but a 44,000 miles Dakota 4x4 truck with a rotted out frame. Looks like the makings of another truck like my 50 Dodge 4x4 was. Hopefully I will be able to get to that some time in 2020. Gene

    A new car....:confused::rolleyes:

  5. Instead of the 64-67 corvette coupe I’ve wanted since I was a little kid I bought a shit ton of concrete and siding etc and did a complete remodel of the house. Getting older and more responsible really sucks sometimes.

  6. Sometimes we need a thumbs down button!:D

  7. Got myself a nice solid Vicky to put my blown, injected Hemi in. 3777928-09c33acf82d4241d164805ab2e242030.jpg 3777927-b6b0d62b3a129359fe500374595bacc1.jpg 10985414_10204632154352998_9199192832851752539_n.jpg

  8. What I like about those dodges is no one repops the sheet metal. So if you want to build one you gotta find original parts. We have three of those pilot house trucks. and only one tail gate and it need work. Funny thing no matter what color those trucks where you got a black bed and black fenders.

  9. Those cubs are good. I prefer the model A. more power and much cheaper to buy. With the one I bought this year I now have 3 A,s

Statements like this make me furious. Using vintage iron as so called "yard art" is no better that taking it to the crusher.

    I didn't "save" anything really,
Bought another flathead engine for my never-ending A project/pile of parts (but at least this one runs)
Lots of smaller parts to take up more space "just in case"
Dad finally fell off his wallet and bought his first car in 28 or so years, on OT 1970 4 speed Roadrunner.

Well I don't like letting things go to waste so if you think you can give it a better life and are willing to drive up here then you can have it for free. The only condition is you have to post a build thread on the Hamb with progress pictures.

  17. No, I'm just that stupid

  18. That crew cab is a 20 year dream truck of mine. And being a factory 4x4 makes it extra special. I bought it out of Alaska...cost more to ship than I paid for the truck. See comment above about being stupid

I would love that opportunity myself LOL. I have always wanted a t body. I have a 331 hemi that'd go great but I don't know where up there is LOL.

  20. I don’t know if it qualifies as a save,,,,but I bought my first Flathead.
It seems like a save to me,,,,the old iron anyway.
I haven’t saved any money since that purchase though,,,,Lol.

I scored a couple of Y blocks, a disassembled and cleaned 272 with a set of 113 heads, and a 292 truck engine which I have cleaned and mocked up with three 97's on Weiand 436. All at a price that was too good to pass up. 20190909_120121.jpg 20191127_135339.jpg 20191205_144513.jpg

  24. I call that “POWER BUYING”, you scrimp and save on most things you buy but sometimes you just have to step up and do what it takes to get that one special thing!

  25. One can never have too many Farmalls. We also have an A, four digit serial number, 1939. I love A and B Farmalls. Between Dad, Chandler, and I, we have 6 Cubs, one A, 4 H’s, one M, one B, one C, and two BN’s. Mom suspects we might have a tractor problem. The only problem is we are running out of shed space!

I've saved my own coupe, which sat in storage for a decade.

As well, I've tracked down a ton of vintage, era-correct parts for the build... some REALLY neat items. My favorite of all of them, is this license plate frame:

Only thing I saved this year was by building my 4 car carport I got 4 vehicles out of the weather, in effect saving the paint on them. I spent a little on getting the Lincoln back together, but turned out the trans was bad so now I wait until tax time and hope I get enough back to get it rebuilt.

I was lucky to save this coupe from mother nature slowly breaking it down back to earth... thumbnail - 2019-05-10T183017.097.jpg thumbnail - 2019-06-02T074541.421.jpg thumbnail (82).jpg thumbnail (81).jpg
