Judging by the streamers on the boat, on the car, and one of those "white things" on the radiator cap, combined with he streamers on the truck behind AND the big sign in the boat itself, I'm guessing they are spiffed up for a parade or something. Probably lost one of the "puffs" from the front wheel.

Weren't any of you guys in high school? :D Remember homecoming parades and all the tissue-paper flowers?

I never paid $0.19/gal in SoCal in '59/'60. Maybe in your area.

Neither was common sense. The dad’ s jacket sleeve is scary close to the blade, and he’s cutting wood freehand. Oy!

I never liked that or the nitwit millionaire that made it. Although I lived in TX for a while, we never felt compelled to go look at this thing.

And now 4 of these car brands have been killed and Detroit has gone to Hell from the auto industry shutdowns. When ads like this were made, the future looked bright! Surprise!

I dunno- ad was printed between '26 (Pontiac's birth) and '31 (Oakland's death), so Oakland's death, the Depression and LaSalle's death ('40) were in the immediate future. The crisis of '20-21 was also still looming in the rearview. I'm sure Corporate was under stress in this period.

They're Y-Blocks ain't they? Pickup application judging by the mounts on the bellhousings.

Looks to be 57or slightly later, they have the more modern Holley carb and since they still have a canister oil filter and rear sump oil pan I would say they are for trucks too.
