Way Cool! What a great Story. Nearly all of us here would’ve loved to have a story like yours! Another set of eyes watching you & this build or rebuild!

are those 2 faint marks behind the door in this pic about where the frame sat? if so then it looks like height is right around the door hinge that's the mark you are going for...or was the question how to do it? I'd be tempted to find an original floor then build extensions down over the frame rail to the original body mount points it isnt exactly what the guys did back then but it's clean, simple and not the streetsign/poprivet nightmare either

Do you really need to sand blasts the body? Paint on it looks killer.

Update. The more I get into this project the more I find out i don't know. A move and retirement from a 40 year career has slowed things down but I am still moving slowly. I'll have some pictures soon.
What is a good idea for a brake and clutch pedal setup? I could reuse the original set up but am wondering if there are better things... It had a hydraulic clutch with a slave cylinder on the bell housing.

Also I really want to keep the vinyl covering in the roof? How difficult is it to replace this?

Go @GasGas300 Go!! If its Adequate, Safe and Rebuild-able or in Good Working Order why not run what Dad did...its part of the Soul including as said the Baby Blue Paint may even be adequate as is with some select touch ups...The stance of this Hotrod is so mean business which is the true ambience of what we revere here...Your call of course...Glad your still working on the Pavement reunion...;)

One thing that is many times debated here is the Single Reservoir Master Cylinder vs the Duel...Others will chime in a share views on this I expect...

Things are progressing. Engine is just about done. Transmission and rear end have been gone through. Still a long way to go.

I am having fun and learning a few lessons along the way. I am suprised how much more difficult this is to do right and the importance of planning your next step is.

Chopping Top...not an option by modification...interesting looking at that channel in an interior shot...real deep, down n' dirty...

I like the nose up attitude his Dad Nailed back in the day...

@GasGas300 are you recreating that stance in the Shot with your Dad?

@GasGas300 are you going to run Firestone Deluxe Champions just as Your Dad did?

There are other options but they were a force in Vintage Hotrod that was hard to beat and are still around...even those grooved Vintage Cheaters in a period width would have been the other Hotrod option if Dad was to run at the drags...

But that 3/4 Street Shot just talks the Stance and look to me...

Your Dad looked ready to take on the World and Win Doing it...;)

Thank you for the birthday wish. Sorry I don’t check this often. The car is coming along but not ready yet. Maybe for my next birthday. 158B53E0-D1E7-4B9E-B26B-59D14F892BCC.jpeg
