Technical 37-54 and 55 to 62 Chevy six alternator brackets

    Found a vendor on that auction site selling alternator brackets for the stovebolt sixes,has one for the 37 to 54 and another for the 55 to 62 so other then the water pump what would be the difference between the two. To make matters worse I have a 60 235 that has a 54 water pump with the adapter,the vendor is out of town until the second so they can not tell me until then.

    the mounting pad on the block is different on early vs. late stovebolts. one is angled, one is horizonal......Al

    I think it was Davis speed equipment somewhere in Wisconsin.

    I figured that part of the block would have stayed the same so that answers my question on why two different mounts and then there is the question of the tensioner bracket since I have a early water pump on a late block.

    From what their website looks like they only make parts for those stovebolt sixes and GMCs too.
