Anyone know what this is?? I'm just not familiar enough, especially without fenders on it. Resized_20191121_131322.jpeg Resized_20191121_131333.jpeg

That's pretty cool @RMONTY is it in your garage yet...;)

Was it scalded at one time...It looks pretty solid however there is quite a sag in the driver door...Good luck if your securing it for yourself and if not perhaps others may want a go at it...

My neighbor found it and a bunch of other old iron that's maybe 1/2 mile from here. He said the guy is hurting for cash so I may go see if he even knows what he has and what its worth. More to come....

Most definitely a '40 Ford coupe, as Dirty Dug said. Get it! I need a right front Houdaille shock :D

  12. 40 is the first year for wipers in the cowell instead of overhead as well as having a Fixed windshield. Same basic firewall from 35 - 40 and in 41 the Firewall/Cowell made a total change. Yep she's a 40.

Sure looks like a 40 Ford with the wipers coming out of the cowl and not the roof. The doors don't have the wind wings though that started in 40.

  15. There's a lot of stuff M.I.A. and the wing windows are just some of it. You can tell they were there once by the metal channel on the front edge of the door glass. Ya, just like some of you I wish it was in my neighborhood soon to be my back yard.

There's an old slant back over there I think, as well as some early/mid 50s Ford stuff I think. My neighbor took the pics I posted and was supposed to get more. Trying to get more pics from him. Unfortunately it's starting to rain so it may be a few days before I can get over there myself and get more pictures and talk to the guy.

Cool find. It’ll never be a stock ‘40 again, so might as well chop it and make a hot rod out of it.

That would be a dangerous find 1.5 miles from my house...I own an 18’ steel deck trailer with a winch, lol.

Wonder how difficult finding fenders both front and rear would be?

I wouldn't think it would be hard at all. Both metal and fiberglass are available new, and there are a lots of parts cars still out there. 40 Ford stuff is as popular as 32 stuff, so it's out there. Prices will be all over the board.....

I once drove through a blizzard to pick up a 392 Hemi. 6" of snow on the ground when I left, 10 " by the time I got home. Rain? That's just a small annoyance. ;)

To me the holy grail of fomoco stuff is 32 ford, 40 ford and a 50 merc!
    Go get it!,,

  29. Were it in my back yard it would be just a shell looking for a complete 4 door that's in tact. Trying to gather up everything missing in the Photo will tip the bank into it being a Bad Deal. By the time your done with the 50 SD doing something with that Coupe will be second nature to ya.
