Tire sure makes a nice cushion , cradle .....I always use Heavy nylon strap on engine pulls and installs...more lift points...noticed the road draft tube flex pipe...don't think I've ever seen that type before....

Somebody's making a "Street Rod"! Contrary to what it says on the valve covers, it is NOT a Corvette engine, despite popular belief.:D Looks to be lots of good "Hot Rod" parts there.

As I said in an earlier post : "Street Rodders, the gift that keeps on giving".

  6. You can never go wrong with a Small Block Chevrolet. I’m not sure how the transmission will like the power but that’s fixable.

Does it have side mounts? Looks like staggered valve cover bolts (not sure cause of the view) along with the exhaust manifold makes it look like a 55-57 265 or 283 engine.

Might be good for a traditional build so check out the numbers on the block ;)

That's an understatement :) Thousands of early Ford rods once ran that setup. Pure survivor stuff right there.

It even still has the 55/56 manifolds that were needed for the very popular "early Chevy in a 40 Ford" swap shown in many early rod magazine "how to" tech articles, and the top shift trans feels just like the old days. I even like the 2Gc for simplicity. I hope it gets the respect & care that it deserves.

Love it!!! What a find. Would look good in any early "rod". Let the debate rage on. I'll set back and laugh. Too many people here that were not around in the "50's" and early "60's". Olds, Buick, Cad, Hemis and Chevy engines could be found under the hood of just about anything.

You shoulda stopped at "DRUG" ya know. I mean really, all of this life is a drug, an affliction, an addiction a, well never mind as I'm sure y'all get it. If a project car is a clean sheet of paper this would make a nice pencil...;)

The trans and adapter are probably worth what you paid and easy to sell if you don't need them. I too use an old tire to cradle engines, it works great.

The '39-and-up trans is worth more than the engine.

  16. I think that transmission set up will hold up fine to that early 2bbl. Not a ton of HP, & that combination has been used for years. Id clean it all up, paint it, set it in the corner, until something else comes down the line
