  4. Unsure weather those race cars are even legal to run down the track anymore

  5. Wow, what a collection. The Grumpy Camaro and Sox & Martin Cuda are great cars, but if i had the money I would own that Earnhardt car, though its probably a oval car so you cant even really vintage race it.

Now I am a bit confused. I saw this Big T at Starbird's museum three weeks ago. Darryl visited with my friend and me for about 20 minutes.

^ I believe there have been several clones (authorized I believe) of the Big T. Still, I'd park the clone in my garage if I could.

there were two built at the same time, probably back in 2005-6 or so. One was built for Darryl and the museum and the other was built for a radio station give away contest. the give away car is not as correct as the one done for Darryl. (single 4 bll carb, disc brakes etc.) I bought the give away car from the contest winner and it ended up in the Ralph Whitworth collection.

I couldn't afford to buy a model car of each them - some would not want but, a couple would be fun to take to a few shows and let people enjoy looking at them, and to fire them up

Nice stuff, we all have different interests, I'd take the HEMI powered sprint car. Bob

  13. I believe the Jenkins Vega and the Glidden Pinto were raced on the Nostalgia Pro stock circuit. Notice the automatic in the Pinto ..Yuck!

After looking at a few of the other collections listed Don Wallace has the most interesting collection by far. But then, to each his own I guess. Sign me up for the two Grumpy Jenkins cars and feel free to throw in the Sox & Martin Car too.

17,500, this was the radio station give away car. It is not as faithful a recreation as the one in Starbirds museum. It has a single 4bll instead of the proper 3x2's. it also has disk brakes instead of the proper 40 ford drum brakes, It has a modern tube front axle instead of the 37 ford v8-60 axle.... just a few of the concessions that were made on this car

Thanx. But I still would have bid! I remember spending 12 bucks for the 1/8th kit back in high school. As a life-long model builder, I would have loved it. Back dating it a little more wouldn't be that hard, eh?

Thanks. This may be a problem in the future, hope the clones and tribute cars never get confused with the real original ones. Bob

  25. there was a question wether that car was "real". I was told the provenance couldn't be proved. we bid but stopped at 60k

  27. From what I saw, the demographics, at this location, seemed to be older Baby Boomers
May have little if no interest in 50’s Nostalgia like The Aztec
