That's the best reply on making them I've had. You've got me thinking. Thanks.

Bought this Red's header, dirty but unused, at a swap meet, and just had it jet-coated. Another piece done...altho I should have slowed down and done more prep work on it My headers.jpg

Same site. I use the procedure on this page. http://www.fordgarage.com/pages/ignitorB.htm

Scroll down past the pertronics info and Vince shows how to time with a model A cap that when done you can swap the modern cap back on.

    Thanks Mark
I have a line on a rebuilt B distributor that I’m going to pick up.

    I also have this Mallory
Anyone have a suggestion on the best available option for replacement points and condenser?
How do I tell what this is, and what parts are compatible?

That Mallory #2301105 is still sold new. Any online performance shop has parts, Summit Racing, Jegs, etc...
I'm almost sure these are the part numbers for that distributor.

Got the Zipper back together and did a test drive and the death wobble is finally gone. Okie Joe tweaked the ‘32 heavy axle and I replaced the original spindles and king pins with new ones from Speedway along with new drums. Balanced the drums and the wheels separately. When I reassembled the front end, made sure that the WB was dead nuts side to side along with the hairpin settings. Fun to drive again!

Just got home after a wonderful weekend at the Denver Timing Association 70th anniversary show. I we honored to be a part of it. Here are a couple of banger pictures. There were many amazing cars there.

Bob, Just make sure it has the cam springs and the spring plate that goes under the upper plate. I've bought two "rebuilt" ones that were missing them and have not had any luck getting replacements.

  25. poshdbs,
I have no idea, it came with the head and was lost in a move. I wasn't using it.
You might try Dan4Banger online, SOSS Charlie Yapp, Steve Serr Miller high-speed heads too.
If this is a DODD head, it may not be the std Model A bolt pattern, so check before purchasing.

I wondered if you had it lying around.
Mine came with an adapter for a V8 pump so easier to stick with that.

  27. IMHO you’re better off with the V8 pump
You can float a thermostat in the upper hose if you need to

Yes John I'm running one in there at the moment. I took your advice and had the head sealed. Not checked if the rockers work correctly yet but they need some work as they look ground down and not very smooth. Same as the valve ends. Dave.

john , didn't know you had a "IMHO" ………….. STEVE

  30. Steve, yes I have a IMHO, it equates to saying do this, I have been there. (less typing)

poshdbs, yes, the rocker assembly was just junk on the one I received, I made new rockers and stands before running.
another word of advise if I may (IMHO) check valve seats and pressure test the head.
