50 buick, kennys dragster, bobs car 013.JPG My first attempt to build me a custom the year was 1960. My dad bought the car brand new and after he wore it out I got it so off to build me a custom I went. I had no tools but I had spray paint and the little books(Rod & Custom) to teach me how. Note the flaming eye balls on the hood and striping above the headlights(decals) thanks to JC Whitney.
I never got the car finished the way I wanted because the straight 8 expired. Sold it to the salvage for 12.50.
    Sorry for the picture quality.

  11. Dang, I love low rider '64 Impalas! If only they didn't have that flat front end on them....love everything else about them, but the front end has never been my favorite.

  13. Nah, not really. LOL Just something about that wide, flat front end. I know the whole car is basically square, so flat across the front "fits" the theme, but it just never struck me as the best. Maybe a Pontiac front end would be better...of course, I'm partial to 60's Pontiacs, so I might not be objective. LOL

I'm referring to the purple Ford shoebox.

I don't have a problem with a split bumper only in the back, but I might be bias... :)

It's not just that it's spilt, the front bumper seems fat when compared to the skinny one on back. I have a custom that I am building and have looked at doing a spilt one on front. But wonder if it's out of place with a full bumper on back. I'm looking at different ways of doing it so asking opinions. Thanks
