  1. Found these in my stuff today and thought I would share. Sorry they have "patina".... 2. It is sad that color photos were the rage when those were taken. Nobody thought that 60 years later time would show that black and white photos would have been a better choice.

  4. And....they have been in a cool, dry place inside an envelope inside a box inside a closet inside the house! I don't know how they could have faded. Just the composition of the material, I guess. I took them with my Kodak Instamatic camera. I was about 15 years old.

  5. When photos meant something and had value.
    Thanks for the memories.

...just a stupid phone and artistic assumption of a faded memory...still a lot of vintage Hotrod in those mid sixties wild things...thanks for sharing your teenage captures @31Dodger

I may attempt a few more faded memory adjustments with some additional software on my desktop in the near future...

Thanks, Dodger. I think most of us (that lived thru the 60's) have some pics like these. OK fellas, how about sharing them?

Thanks for those great pictures. The fact that you still have them or they were even taken in the first place is cool. I remember trying to explain to my kids what it was like back in the day to get pictures developed by sending them away or having to take them to a store and wait a week to see if they turned out. I love seeing those old rods from that era but I always tend to wonder when I see them in pictures and books if a lot of them were ever driven or just pushed on and off a trailer.

Makes sense. I'm in Allen Park. If you haven't been back in a while, Cobo Hall is a lot bigger, doesn't have those lights anymore, and isn't called Cobo anymore.

Dang, I was two months old when this picture was taken. Between the two of us, and from the looks of it, the picture is holding up way better.

    Heh heh... 69... nice. :D

And then along came the Polaroid, and you got them in a few minutes....but they held up even less well over time.

Used to drive down from the U.P. to go to the car show at Cobo hall. My brother lives in Mt.Clemens and we would go.

I grew up in Southgate, never made it to the Clem. But Detroit Dragway was only about 3 miles away. Close enough to hear. Dad finally caved in to my begging and took me several times from '67 to '70.
