Jimmy Six, on a different note, WTF is your avatar? It makes me think all the drugs I took in the 70's just kicked in.

Had seen a hood cut like my drawing on a fat fender Ford a long time ago, so before buying an extra hood to experiment on could someone please show how its done on the side view. IMG_3351 (1).JPG 20170414_134704.jpg

  16. Here ya go. It's not that I don't like the hood sides it's that I didn't know if they needed to be depicted in a different way or that is the finished product.

Thanks, James D. Glad to see you still at it!
This is for a four door owner, considering a Gasser build, and possible 2-door conversion.
Rather than stretching the pillar (difficult, without parts car), what are your thoughts of lowering the lid instead using a HT windshield)? Worth the effort?
The gasser basis can be ditched as well, if not appropriate, as his car has not yet been butchered.

Wow! There is some talent here! I'm building this for my wife and she wants to paint it "Satin" black. Not gloss, not flat, but something with some "sheen". Can you guys work your magic with color, covered running boards and factory side trim? Maybe re-chrome the bumper?

I'd love to show her the "end-game" (We have a long way to go!)

    Thank you very much!

  23. 1955-chevy-210-4-door-sedan-4.jpg Well you got me thinking, so i started fooling around with this. You could use the photo to win some bets if nothing else. It´s a post with a four door hardtop rear window, though the roof is actually lower on the HT, so this may not work at all in real life. Makes for a better looking car to my way of thinking. Lose the rear handles. Thought if you can find a donor hardtop roof, then I´d totally use the whole thing and lose the door frames.

Man, you're as fast as you are good!
Definitely thought provoking, but I'm quite sure the HT parts are not on the agenda.
I believe I'll sit this one out.
Thanks a hundred. Your input is always most welcome!

I'd like to see this car without the running board step plate. In fact, I'd like them all to go away. Here's a great-looking coupe with a terrific color combination and flowing lines with a white turd-looking thing that catches your eye for no damn reason. They even look stupider (yes, stupider) on commercial vehicles. Check the before and after on a few if you can. I'm sure you'll agree with me – I know I do (most of the time).

Didn't mean to offend anyone's sense of esthetic. Just looking to update those swap meet wheels and maybe fill the wheelwell a little more.
