This engine is in the 1930 model a hot rod i bought. i am having a hard time figuring out what year and model it came from. Any help would be appreciated. I have the following numbers/letters: On the rear of the block: 3970014 On the front: 10B178336 and To317CNJ or T0317TNJ-which i think means Tonowanda, march 17 Thanks
10B....means it's from a 1970 Chevy car. CNJ would make that a 1970 Chevelle with a 300 hp 350 with a manual transmission. any more questions? we can probably dig up some more info edit: took a while to get it figured out
Thanks for the help again Guys. Funny, about the corvette. Well this 1930 model A car has "corvette valve covers". Haggerty wanted pictures of the car. They saw the corvette on the covers and started asking many questions. I told them that they were just a decoration. I have a pair of old school edelbrocks and a matching air cleaner that will be installed in place of the "corvette"
My 1970 350 300 014 4-bolt main engine for my 57 Chevy has the corvette valve covers for now. Sorry, not a corvette, came out of a station wagon.
JB Weld a blue Ford oval on a plain Chevy factory Sheetmetal cover. Then explain that it was a special engine project that happened to get canceled, but you got the only survivor.
Are you referring to a real Olds valve cover, or a cover off one of the many Chevy engines that were factory installed back in the 70s. Remembering back, it was funny how many people went ape shit and sued GM about the "fake" engines. They sued, and actually won the lawsuit.
