Stay away from them , they suck, ride terrible etc. Wat too short and way too stiff. Fought them for 5-6 years on my 32 frame and model A truck. Finally cut them off and installed coil overs and it rode great ...run forrest run......I sold the car last year ....
Many good applications of quarter elliptical over the years past on production cars as well as racing cars from Harry Miller, POP Dreyer, and Bugatti.
I mounted them on the outside of the frame on my ‘29 and people freak because they can’t see how it’s sprung. I knew I didn’t want coil overs showing just because. I can access the adjuster bolts through holes in the floor of the bed. I’m very happy with the ride and I took out one leaf each side. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
I like quarter elips. They are an excellent alternative to coil overs and if done correctly can be an excellent way yo hold a very fast car off the ground. here is an interesting thought. In the '80s there was an F-100 doing the Baja Bash on quarter elips. It was running as fast off the road on the Peninsula as most of us are running on pavement.
I guess what I was talking about was some of the older cars and trucks having those systems as opposed to the simple leaf spring system so common today. Usually back in the day things were simple and later got complicated. Check out the rear suspension system on that 28 Dodge they are building in Brazil . I still haven’t figured out why Dodge did it that way. That may not be a true quarter system, but it sure has a lot of components to it. But, I sure like Denis4X4 , system. That’s not what I had pictured as a typical quarter elliptical suspension system. That’s neat! Looking at that car.....maybe I’m starting to understand! Bones

Totally built my own from suzuki samurai springs. Took a pair apart re-arched them myself the old fashioned way with a sledge and anvil, cut and shortened. Built mounts and welded them altogether on my 31. Totally height adjustable, 40 bucks total cost and i like the way they feel.
32 Fords use lateral 1/4 elliptical springs on the front, from the factory. They do share a common perch and are like siamese twins
Hope I set mine up right. I did a 4 bar? with angled uppers and put springs on a shackle at axle so it could move. Am trying to maintain caster. Any inpit?
