I currently have my 40 ford tudor w/392 hemi and my 63 Dodge might trade for the right 66 GTO for sentimental reasons. Just wondering what others think about trading cars.

Nothing wrong with trading as long as you get what you want and it is fair for both parties. Personally, if I traded say my '27 T for a old pick up, I would prefer a project with cash so I can build the truck out as I see fit. Not much sense having to redo someone else's ideas/ work if not suitable to me.:)

  3. With us owning the '32 for 31 years and the wagon being in the family for 65 years there is nothing we would trade them for.

Now my '50 Ford coupe is for sale and I haven't entertained a trade but for the right '32 Ford roadster project I think I could be convinced to go for that. HRP

    I sold my Chev powered '37 Ford and bought a restored $$ '66 T-Bird.
Made a pile of money and riding in comfort.

My old Tudor sedan will never leave me, I will leave it probably. So a trade is out of the question, but that leaves want's and I want just about half of the cars in the classifieds here on the HAMB. At the top of that list would be Danny's shoebox!

Cash, I would trade it for cash.
I would rather build a car from the parts pile than get another one in trade.

  10. Not enough money or rare car for me to think of trading Taboo or my 33 Pickup or the family 55 Chevy. I would trade my o/t 68 C10 pickup though for a 56 Chevy 2 door project as I have had the want to build a more driver friendly custom.

as much as I love my buick coupe, and am getting excited for a drive in a yr or so, I've been pretty obsessed with wanting a 34'ish chevy roadster after seeing this one over the summer. But i had already sort of decided awhile ago to pursue some early/mid 30s GM roadster project after i finish the current cars. no trades, just adding to the stable :) I have an off topic c10 that I would probably trade for something more usable though but still interesting.

My T roadster turned out real pretty but it's just not very practical, and I would love almost any convertible from 1939-1960. I have a soft spot for 52-54 Fords (and shoeboxes) and I've seen convertibles in those body styles that are reasonably priced, I'd really like to have one.

I would trade mine for a lot of different ones, a '66 GTO would be right at the top of the list, along with a '65, or a '57 Chevy 2 door hardtop. Maybe a '66 Cyclone, or a '61 Impala, the list grows as I type, there are just too damn many cars that I like out there.

  15. Not interested in trading my 56 or my pu for anything really. Now, the 63 Corvair convertible...about anything someone might want to trade as long as it was old and even remotely cool. ;)

For the 56 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery, it would take a just-as-nice, 56 Chevrolet, Model 150, Handyman Wagon; at least I could see out of a Wagon. Or, a 40'ish Willys Coupe, an AC Cobra replica (NO way can I afford an original!), or maybe a 57 Ford 300 2 door, a 69 340 Dart (bought a 70 340 Dart new), or a 72 Nova SS (bought one of those new). But, I'll probably keep the Delivery; I've promised it to my nephew. See, I'm not "just" a Chevrolet guy! I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

I'd gladly offer my '61 Olds up for 55-57 Chevy (preferably a 57, hardtops only), 49-51 Mercuries, 54 Chevy, 57 Ford, 57-58 Plymouth, Any number of mid to late 50s GM hardtop coupes. The biggest thing is the condition and the style. If the deal is right, it's right.

I'd be willing to trade up or down, and cash would level it out. 69423072_10155913742117255_7081096766845616128_n.jpg

I'd trade both my 40 willys sedan and my 38 willys truck for a 35/36 ford slant back any day.

Would it be a fair trade....highly doubt it, but I'd love a 33-34 Ford coupe, or a 37-39 Ford tudor.

  20. I’ve got one with sentimental value(vette) so no trade but I’ve got two projects (56 Belair, 48 plym HEMI) that I would consider trading for ONE nicely finished 50’s or newer car.
You deliver, I’ll even throw in a new trailer to help get them home:D
SERIOUSLY SEND ME A PM if you have any interest

I like trades!!! Just recently traded my "phantom" '32 Sedan Deliv. to HAMBer Hamtown Al for one of his '36 Cabriolets 32 trade.jpg 36 trade.jpg

  22. Yeah, I would consider trading for the right deal. I think I would prefer to trade if I could get what I want. That way I wouldn't have to be looking for one.
I actually tried to trade both my 56 Chevy and my 34 pickup for a 1960 C1 Corvette earlier this year with a dealer but he wouldn't bite. Still would trade them for the right car.
I think a TRADE section in the classifieds here on the hamb would be nice.

In my dreams I would trade my merc for a 41 Willys

  24. After posting in this thread I looked at the hamb classifieds hoping to find a trade section I had somehow overlooked.

I don’t know if I would really trade my convertible, but I would love to have my previous car back. It was a 1939 Deluxe Ford coupe, black with flames and a 400 Pontiac engine

Never did a straight my car for your car swap. Sold a 1928 Packard 443 Roadster project, and bought my 1912 Model T back in 1983 with the money, best deal I've ever done car wise. Bob

Would like to trade my A Tudor for something bigger, pre-1965 or a stack of hundred dollar bills.

  30. I few years ago I had a sweet 64 tempest. I had , basically, a Chevelle SS drivetrain for it. I had a gto louvered air cleaner with a Canadian Pontiac 396 decal on it. My plan was a phantom “Canadian “ 396 4spd 12 bolt tempest. But the Daughter thought her wedding was more important, she is now divorced. By rights I should get the tempest back, right?
