    Here's a 37 I had back in 1985.[when I was a younger]

The car was all original ,including cable brakes. I added some wheel adaptors and put alloys on it.

I always liked the 37 . Back in the 60's my Father had a Shell station in Kent, Ohio and one of the customers had an Olds powered 37 . The brakes went bad at the main downtown intersection and he t-boned the corner of a bank .

  6. My car is titled a 1938 but has a 37 front end with 38 rear fenders.

As stated, '37s were favored as stock car bodies, at least in the Northeast. First year with a solid roof.

  9. They've gained in popularity over the years for sure. I've always appreciated the Art Deco cues in their styling. It's one of the years where I would prefer a flat-back Tudor over the Coupe, but both are pretty cool in my mind. I've always liked the '37 Fords.

My wife says the 37 sedan kinda looks like a PT Cruiser and a 40 sedan looks like a VW bug.

  13. LOL! One of my best friends has a 37 slant back and we sometimes give him crap about all the pt cruiser owners that have “a car just like his”. :D

My wife's brother asked me some years back "how long have you had the PT Cruiser?"

All I'm saying is, non car people look at our cars differently. Half of them probably thinking...poor bastard can only afford that pile of crap.

1937 Ford coupe. It's a Ford, it's a coupe and it was built 7 years before I was born. It has all the required stuff to build a Hot Rod out of and it's cool. As @lothiandon1940 said, " What's not to like? ".

  19. Ive got one in the corner of the shop collecting dust, it'll get finished eventually. I think they look as good as other examples from the time.

Back in the 1960's, at school, I had a mate who was good at drawing pictures of stuff. He drew a picture of a 37 front on like it was heading straight at me.
To me it was the finest looking thing I'd ever set eyes on.
I've been a hot rodder ever since.

  25. As the other posters have stated, in the fifties, when I was first interested in old Fords, the only 37 coupes I remember seeing, had all been converted to stock cars.
There was no interest in the 37 or 38 sedans either. I used a 38 2 dr slant back, that I would love to own now, as a parts car. It was in pristine condition.

In the 60's the only early fords sitting around still in Socal were 37 Fords. Nobody wanted them.

15770381551365729481014490607505.jpg My mother was driven to the hospital in the family 37 4 door . Shortly there after I was born. My parents dated in this car and held on to it. It was parked under the barn their to languish for the next 20 years.Growing up on the farm I had to make my way around the car to feed the cows. Well, all those years of having cows ,pigs and chicken crap leaking through the floor above killed the car ,rotted the raingutters right off ,,,an the smell !!! My dad "gave" it to a friend who cut the roof off and made it a open car streetrod.I still see it around town (on sunny days) SO ,To finish my story ,,,,here is an original hubcap that I saved from the car that carried me into this world ! 15770381551365729481014490607505.jpg
