What do you guys like more on nice model a hot rod? A 32 grille or the stock model a grille?

  2. I've seen both look great so it really boils down to a personal choice.

    A model A is a model A. A 32 is a 32. I like them that way.
Just an opinion but I get tired of 32 grilles on everything.

Like everything it's a matter of personal choice. What year Model A are you talking about? I've never been a fan of the '30-'31 stainless steel Model A grill shell and think a Deuce shell looks great on a '30-'31. On a '28-'29 Model A, I like the stock shell.

Personally, I prefer the '32 because it has a grille where the earlier cars just have an exposed radiator core. Looks too vulnerable to me.

I can see where the question arises. What was once a custom thing is now the norm. Tail over end, the 32 grill shell is the new 9". Everyone has to have one or it just wrong.

  10. I prefer the stock Model A piece on a 28-29 Model A but love a 32 shell on a 30-31 Model A. I do find I prefer the 32-34 pickup shells though over a 32 passenger grille.

Im with the "its over done" group.

Anymore its becoming cookie cutter style-ing, duece grille, sbc. No body thinks outside the box anymore or just to plain lazy to do something different.....

Both look good to me, but like goldmountain said, the A radiator is open to rock or other damage so a lot of guys put on the aftermarket protector. The 32 has a grill already. I have both on A's, and I like both.

  16. I once say a Model A grille shell on a Deuce sedan and to be perfectly honest it looked like crap, Model A's look great with Model A shells and look great with a Deuce Grille shell.

Model A's can pull a grille change better than any other cars, it's a personal preference thing. HRP

Your car, your choice. Pick the one that gives you the biggest warm, fuzzie. You shouldn't need to get your warmth from other people, they should add to what you already have when they give you a like. And if someone doesn't like it, it shouldn't bother you because you made the best choice at the time with what you had and what you knew.

"Cookie cutter" just means something has stood the test of time. If something you did becomes cookie cutter, does that mean you have to change it? How long does it take for an alternate choice to become cookie cutter? The line between different/unique and weird can be very thin. Nobody wants to build a WTF car.

I see several reasons for these types of questions.
    1) start a discussion
    2) help me please the greatest number of people
    3) research
    4) how close to the line can I get and still be inbounds
    5) I only went "a little" over the line, but I'm OK, aren't I?
