    Beautiful car and a great stance. Can you please describe suspension mods and tire sizes you used to achieve the lowering job without resorting to a dropped axle?

    I was thinking the same thing. summer is winding down and not much going on I guess. I have been working on my 1950 Chevy and it has 2 too many cylinders for this thread. HAHA.

    When we had 11° and snow here a week ago, I figured I better get the top done on my ccpu. Not too exciting, just re-shaping the wood to fit better, (old wood kit from the 70's) and getting new fabric over it. On the plus side, the old metal underneath looks like new after I got it cleaned up, so I'm pretty happy about that! Once I get the drafts stopped I'll start messing with the powertrain. It runs and drives fine, but I would like to raise the compression and put my other downdraft setup on it. Make it run down the road a little better.

    I am going to do some tuning on the Heap and see what my top speed is Saturday.
    I got a feeling it might break the speed limit, she runs good in the dense fall air.

    Mechanical rework? something leaks or knocks,tear it down and fix it..body work? grind it off,do it again..Now paint is another story..shoot it and dont like it? look at it three weeks while it hardens before you sand it and do it again..that explains why most painters are goofy,and here I was thinking it was the fumes..nope,the work drives you crazy

    I get my middle bench seats for 20 bucks at the local pick and pull junkyard. I have found that 4inches from the first subrail cross member to the bottom of the front seat and 2inches in the back is perfect height and rake for my 55yr old big a$$ 6ft frame.

    Couple of questions about your coupe -great stance

    17” or 18” wheels and what size tires?

    What size Winfield and are you running a fuel pump? S/SR?

    if you were in ca. , PGE would have to shut off the power lines before you could get that close . fire hazard

    My frame is 6 years older :)..Got one at picknpull,with a missing head rest and scuffed up plastic hinge covers. The young tattooed girl at the counter gives me a price,so I start into my junkyard haggle,refined by a lifetime of lowballing.She gives me a deadpan look like I'm from mars..'what are you doing? the computer sets the price,I just work here'..Goodbye,goodbye sweet America,land that I loved..never walked into a yard where I couldn't shave a buck off the price till now..

    @walls
    -17” wheels. 525 front 650 rear
    - Winfield S carb. No fuel pump. Gravity.

    @V4F power lines are at average height on a telephone pole. Idk what CA does but CA has a lot of dumb rules too.
