Ran up to North Central WI over the weekend (instead of the Iron Invasion) 'cause it was a good day to not be outdoors. And he had a hoard of Pontiac parts for sale. The guy is in his early 70's and and starts showing me around. He is quite a welder & fabricator but is not familiar with the HAMB. Go figure!
He is working on this Olds coupe that was rotted half way to the door handles so he decided to add some Caddy sheet metal. He is really into 60's Caddys and likes to customize them doing about a car a year.
This second body's metal has been shorted & narrowed to make everything fit and the craftsmanship is impressive, I would say it ranks right up there with many of the advanced projects that I see here. His custom dash was equally impressive but I did not snap that one.
He has a Pontiac 350 & a TH350 ready for it and I would love to see the proportions once he has paint laid down.
While semi OT, I knew you guys would enjoy as this is just one of those guys out in the boonies that no one really knows about! IMG_0657.JPG IMG_0659.JPG IMG_0656.JPG

I admire his skills and talent however just because you can do it doesn't make it right. Definitely NOT HAMB friendly!

It's a 'mash up' of incongruous styles that is not redeemed by workmanship alone.

Just my opinion, for whatever it is worth, but I stand by it.

Not what I would build but I respect that he is still doing it in his 70s. Hope I still can too.

UHH...NO...what year is the Caddy...it isn't old enough therefore off to Offtopicsville I say...

Perhaps the builder HAS done something Hamb friendly...however this kinda misses the mark...

There is however an okay in the Homogenized thread for UGLY but it has to be on topic...so yeah if if the years align it would be fair game...some builders like to 'F' with ones mind...he won...

The only reason I can think of for posting such a mess is for a joke. The workmanship could be the best in the world, and it would still be a mess. Nothing he has done goes, or flows together. Everything about it looks wrong. Maybe it would make a good clown car, but that's all it would be good for.:D
