I have a 8ba with a early style weiand 2 deuce intake that doesn’t have the boss cast into the intake to mount the generator to. What can I use. I heard the head mount bracket hits the distributor. That's not an 8BA intake. Like Alchemy says how you going to vent it??? You need to find an intake for an 8BA.
Many people use older intakes on 8ba’s. The older oil filler/ vent was the vent. What did the older 32-48 engine do. They didn’t have a vent besides the oil filler Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.

Get the close-together dual intake from Speedway, for the 8BA. $200+, half price of the name brands...Generator mounts in front center, misses the front carb. Also nice valley bore (for road draft tube, use with a PCV valve, no crankcase vapors all over the intake) EDIT! Oops! Posted before reading "I'm not spending money on another manifold!" 1. Sell this manifold, buy the Speedway 2. Use this manifold, But: Forget the generator, run a magneto. 3. Driveshaft bracket the generator, run off the (open) drive.
Bad idea depending on a filter to vent your engine. I’d imagine most will stop adding help until you address this issue. You can still use a 59a intake but yours will not work unless you put the generator on the drivers side. Sell it and buy a replacement with the generator mount attached. I’m sure some guys would love to trade intakes even up.

Mount it on the left side, if you have room. You need spacers made, longer head bolts and change the water outlet. Your still spending money and have no venting.
You might want to listen to what is being said about your intake. It is not the correct intake for an 8BA motor and it will not vent your motor. Because you have an intake that you want to use does not make it the correct one to use. But if you are insistent on using what you have, fabricate a generator mount and let us know when your motor fails so we can say "TOLD YOU SO!"
I have the proper intake for Boden if he wants to pay the shipping. About $70 to ship. They are heavy.

You didn't say that you had the original intake. GEESH WHIZ! Looks like you're going to have to spend the money for an aftermarket double intake. $200-$400, depending on where you get it. Another route is to use your OE single intake and get a double intake for the top..."SLINGSHOT RISER". They do not cost much and my friends run it with no problems.
There is another riser that my friends use. I can't think of the name right now. It rises from the intake and holds two carbs. Does not cost much at all. I think around $75. This is kind of what I'm talking about. This one is about $170 at Summit.

They have linkage for it and my buddy's fabbed their linkage. My brother used a banjo fitting on his with a straight line rod.
A little "eBay magic" is called for here. Early manifolds are harder to find than 8BA models. List yours, sell it for a good amount, and then go searching for a correct 8BA manifold. If you are careful and spend a little time, you will come out way ahead. Trying to use that early manifold will probably sour you on the whole project. You can thank me later.

Or explain the issue and and ask them if it would be ok with them to do some dealing to get what you need.
Boden, just add a PCV valve to the intake you have. That will take care of the venting situation if you use the early fuel pump stand as the intake for venting.
