Your dad would be very proud going over this car with a fine comb, polishing his work.

That is an alternator? Or maybe an autogen?

@loudbang looks like a power master gen look alike. If you look
Close you can see the oval

Its a modern 12-volt, one-wire alternator that LOOKS like an old school generator. Made by Powermaster.

Guys - I am getting super-excited to get this thing on the road again. Stay tuned, because I plan on duplicating the photo of my Dad and little sister standing next to the car in the early 1970's (see my profile pic).
We're making progress, but there is still a TON of stuff to work through (need to buy a fuel tank, wire the car, get a bunch of parts chromed, paint the body, upholstery, gauges, new Coker tires, licensed and inspected, etc...).
Should start getting 'fast and furious' over the next few weeks. I'll try to keep you posted often.

For an inspired component they have reached and achieved an acceptable standard...Did they reconfigure those as I thought they looked less vintage in the past...and Chromed to Boot...Oooahhh!

Hey Riff your gonna be Motoring soon...your quite involved in this too...good on you...;)

  10. It’s great to see this one coming together. I remember when you initially posted and thought “Oh great! Another guy who just doesn’t get what this forum is all about. He’s going to lose the best of this car.” But, instead, you listened, asked questions, and learned from the guys here. The results are very apparent - this car is going to turn out great! Congrats on all the progress you’ve made so far.

I know - I cringe when I re-read my first post on this site. You all have indoctrinated me well.

  13. Not many (probably myself included) would have been able to listen to what was said and take it to heart after they already had a plan in motion. Good on you! I think it is really paying off for you. I can’t wait to see the end result.

Yes-driving Will the builder crazy with my impatience. He’s got the body welded and patched and ready for paint. Pics to follow. Things should go fast from here...thanks all for following this build. Hope to have it at next year’s Lone Star Roundup and meet some Hambers.

I may have saved myself big bucks cleaning up the old wheels instead of having them re-chromed. Whoever told me about Coke and Aluminum foil-thank you. One down, three to go. Also, all the cleaned up parts and upholstery are patiently waiting to re-install on the car when the time is right...

Nice work on the wheels, I knew they would clean up. Offer still stands on the engine turn gauge panel...

Sorry guys-busy with work. The long process of body work and paint prep is still going on. Doors, front cowl, grill shell, and dash are done-Will is working on body and fenders now. Should be in the paint booth in next two to three weeks. In the meantime, I’m keeping busy with small side projects, like getting the old “nerf bars” re-chromed. More to come!
