Entertaining thread, for sure, but I'm such an idiot, will someone please educate me as to why one would need so many sets of plug wires? How often do y'all change plug wires?
Quick search finds "Relatively frequent replacement every 20,000-40,000 miles".

I've posted my car and the fact that I have to work out of my friends garage. He's technically retired but he still does some work on older stuff. I bought quite a few sets of plug wires for 90's 350's as he will use them over time.

 

I just went thru the whole clearance section. Lots of deals on clutch kits if you have a late model Ford engine. $1800 kits for about $400. Dual disc.

 

I bet the sales office at Holley is saying: "Dang, these plug wires are the most popular item ever! Look at how fast they are flying off the shelf. We better get a new shipment of 100 sets in here pronto!"

And Mark's postal carrier is saying: "Dang, this guy has totally lost his mind! Look at how many he's buying. We better get a shrink in here pronto!"

 

Here was my partial load for $58 bucks, some of these fittings run around $35 bucks each normally.

 

The problem with a lot of these great deals is that unless you have a lot of projects to use them up on or a lot of friends to sell them to you have a choice.

Try selling them on eBay or resign yourself that you’ll have them for the rest of your life and your Estate will deal with them.

Well, it beats having ten extra engines in your basement that you'll never use.

 

Have stock of wires and spark plugs to last into 2056.....ask my friends..... hell some days I just throw a bunch out when I'm down !

If it was all the way to the tail pipe, that is one sale I would have jumped on. I am relieved that the plug wire sets are gone. I don't need them, I have two extra sets, but probably would have jumped in and ordered some.

Well, I wouldn't say it was stupid. Stupid would be buying the wires, because someday you hope to own something they fit. It's like that thread about building a car because you have one part of it, taken to extremes.

No help here, I only buy the extra long universal ones so I can rout them the way that looks the cleanest and best. Even if sparking a SBC I always get the universal BBC ones with the one end already done so I can cut to length the dizzy end.

 

Not bad.... My car has a dual disc clutch set-up.....

I bought a whole pile of spark plugs [80] for less than $20 shipped!

 

Thanks to @Moriarity and @JNKYARDDOG_1, just bought 6 sets for the 4.3 roadster motor

 

What’s the quality. I had a low buck($15) set cracking after 4 years, only 20k miles. Replaced with NGK wires.
