There's a guy selling videos on E-bay for chopping 4-dr Mercs. I'm just starting one now and the video is excellent. It's about 4 hours long and very thorough. I'd highly recommend it.

  7. Here are a couple of pics of a chopped 4dr Merc that I took in 1980. They were taken at the now defunct Mid-Century Mercury Clubs annual Memorial Day show in Kenosha, Wi.

I remember thinking that 2dr Merc's were getting scarce if a guy had to build a 4dr. Little did I know this was just the start of the massive "Chopped Merc Revival" that continues on to this day.

This ride was a very, very cool build, with a great chop. I think this car has a better chop than some 2dr's out there. The guy who owned this car drove the hell out of it that weekend. I wish I could of gotten more photo's of it. I have never seen it since and always wondered what happened to it.

I hope this helps you, good luck.

    Joel

  25. Here's mine. 51' 7" chop, removable steel roof. NOT a carson top.

Did you use the orig top as a starting point or is it from something else, any construction shots?

  27. Yes, used the original roof as a starting point but used very little of it. Mostly hand fabbed. I do have build pictures...................... somewhere.

  28. Still can't figure out how to post pics , but there's some pics of mine on the merc club thread pg. 13. that Bad Bob posted for me.
