I have been using Mr google but so far failed to come up with definitive dates for the LA roadster show and swap meet at Pomona in 2020. We hope to tee it in to get to BTTF in Minneapolis soon afterwards.
Thx , down under we celebrate fathers day on First Sunday in September. So its obvious we cant do the roadster show and skip up to Back to the 50s as next year they are on at the same time. Darn ...... Loved it when we could combine the two awesome events..
Dean: Your saying they decided to go back to Friday and Saturday rather than Saturday and Sunday like last year. Wonder why? What are the confirmed dates?
The Friday-Saturday schedule is perfect. Now a person is able to attend the L.A Roadster event then on Sunday go to the Rodeo Drive Concours in downtown L.A. (free event, and worth a drive into the city)
we came over again and had a great time thanks to club members and partners ladies in merchandise stand were so friendly and welcoming Noel plane tickets booked and paid for 2020
I've often wondered what kind of looks you get from the stewardess when you bring a deuce fender on the airplane heading home. Another thing....how many drinks does it take to make a 15 hour flight bearable?
They did not have enough roadsters on Sunday last year to make a good show for spectators. So for 2020 Friday and Saturday only. Renting the fairgrounds for a day is astronomical. The club won't pay the fee for a poor show.
Okay thanks. Last ? I was thinking Pomona had a swap in January ? Between January orFathers day which is better? Thanks
Pomona regular swap is a JOKE compared to LARS. Not even in the same realm really, Pomona swap is for new parts, muscle cars, lowriders (sometimes), toys, clothes and wasted time.......LARS is for quality 50's and down used parts, old speed equipment and hot rod stuff with better prices.
It depends on what your focus of shopping for. If you are looking for vintage parts pre 55 the LARS swap is the one to attend. If you want tri 5 , 60's or muscle car parts or junk then Portland is for you.
Pomona is good if your looking for Mustang, VW, 49-55 Chevy, Impala all years, and... thats it. then row after row of cave man stuff and cheap tools. LARS swapmeet is 100% different.
Went to Pomona once ,never again. If you owned a late model chev you were in heaven , or a VW. But if you were shopping for traditional hot rod parts it a waste of time.
Pomona is a joke anymore. I sell there once a year now compared to four times a year in the past. As was mentioned, toys and furniture. Mostly chevy stuff. The rest is tools and car parts just thrown on the ground. Not to mention the assholes who rent the space next to yours and try to sneak some of your space. Only a couple of other seller's with traditional parts. I think that the LARS swap meet is more organized and has better parts.
Denny LAX to Aussie about 3 hour flight we fly out about 11pm Thursday nite so you can sleep most of way without drinks arrive home Saturday 5am ,we loose a day when we leave Aussie Friday morning 11am we arrive LAX Friday morning 7am work that out Noel
LARS was fun, I went twice, but the swap meet was more of a display of overpriced vintage parts. Spent $23.00 the first year and a bit over a hundred the second year. Turlock and Bakersfield are two that I'd like to go to. Bob
Denny my finger did not work LAX to Aussie is a 13 hour flight not 3 as previously stated my USA clock tells me it is about 5.15am Thursday here it is 10.15pm Thursday nite
