No filled holes for the stainless trim. I’m scratching my head also. Everything I read says it’s a 33 shell but it doesn’t fit.
The hood sides line up with the fenders like they should. If the cab was to or down the sides would be off.
I think the cowl front is a bit low exaggeration the front of the hood . Hows the spacing on the bottom of the hood
I see what you are saying. I may be able to bend it back but I’m not certain. As bad as it’s been hacked maybe I’ll try to find a different shell.
That one will never fit as it is. Maybe someone stood it up like 32 and pushed it down cuz that peak would have been standing really proud
Looks to me like the grille and front of hood needs to be higher. Also noticed that where hood meets cowl, the hood is out of shape. Fixing this will probably help the other problems. May also be out of shape at front. Is that a ‘32 grille surround ? Looks like it should be straight up to make the top correct. Sometimes it takes a bit/ lot of tweaking. Swage lines from cab to hood should be straight, when viewed from the side. Can you get any photos from further back ?
Could it be the curve in the hood has flattened out? With the sides off you may have to roll it on a gas cylinder to narrow the front,,and bring the edges back in.Also unbolt the cab,and shift it to see if its a bit crooked on the frame.
I agree with 31 Vicky....the top of your shell is pushed down and the edges need to go in. You might have to remove whatever is welded into the old rad cap hole first.
Not sure that's a 33 ford pickup radiator shell.....is a big truck hood or radiator shell different? Almost appears too big to me. Here's a photo of my old 33 pickup shell
Wondered if you actually have a ‘32 grille. Notice the curvature of the hood, where it meets the cowl, especially on the 33/34 above! .
Is it possible to take a full profile picture too ? The whole truck side. Maybe even firewall, and the floor repair pictures ... inside the truck ?
yes, the whole floor was missing. the floor has yet to be replace but the cab is mocked up where it needs to be., or really damn close. I understand that affects final alignment issues but the grille shell alignment is my concern at the moment. It doesn't matter if its all hanging in mid air. If the lines on the grille shell don't match the hood it is between those two pieces. I'm with 31vicky right now, I think the top has been smashed down.
if I raise the front of the hood or lower the front of the cab it throws off the hood side to cowl line or the hood side to fender (frame) line.
The top center of the grille is pushed down, at the edge by hood. That is pushing the corners out. Push it up and the corners will come in.
I see now what 31 vicky was getting at. He may be right. Hard to tell from the pictures as the top of grill surround has been modified.
Changing body/hood position will make no difference...that shell is touching the hood top center AND bottom corners. Wrong shell.
Yes, you do have a 33 shell. It is not a 32 because the depth is too big and it has the funny square bump inside the lower chin pan. It is not a 34 because they had a removable bezel on top. You need to bend the top back into position as 31 Vicky has been explaining.
