  3. Today, I sold off another classic O/T car and a bunch of keen stuff that I will never use. I am making room and making sure I won't get distracted from my Cameo, my son's 47 International, and a couple of other big engine daily drivers.
It is difficult letting go of stuff I have owned and loved for over 20 years, but I can see that the extra projects have been preventing me from concentrating on should have been my priority.

  4. What are you running, SB, BB? What size? What rear end?

  5. I never owned one, but I have driven them. Wicked engine. However, my all time favourite is still the 327.

I cheated at the CA-DMV. Somehow passed the vision test by taking extreme liberties with viewing the eye chart. Passed with only one good eye. Wow!! No written test either. 2-hours in the early morning and done for another 4 years.

Watched Dad`s car sell at an auction this past Saturday after him owning it for nearly 40 years. Not a bad thing. No air and no power steering. It was time. He`s 78. Them went to the drags on Sunday at an airport and ran my car in my avatar. Blew more black smoke out the duals all the way down the track than a boosted Diesel truck. Still runs good after the one time pass.

After work stopped by machine shop to check on the standard bore DZ 302 block. #2 main cap was a little loose so I told em to line hone it. After that headed home and reassembled the 58 chevy Pu steering box.

  15. I sponge bathed 3 yrs of dust and funk off my front end, amazing what collects on a car just sitting in a garage, although I was doing a bit of body work on the firewall. 20190916_170524.jpg

Stacked a cord of firewood with my 7 year old grandson Sunday, then he wanted to go for a bicycle ride. Wasn't too long before he hollered "Model T!", looked down an the end of the road and there was a 1912 Stanley Steamer. Took a while but we did catch up to it at the next stop sign. Great to see the car out again it has been off the road for a good six years. Owner had passed on and his daughter was testing a new boiler, pumps and things. A steam car is so special, they just smell different, oil, steam, and fuel. This car is special Debbie & I left the church in the back seat 41 years ago. Bob

  20. I depends on which one gets the upper hand. They have a older 6 year old brother. And he kinda bullied them for a couple of years. Now they gang up on him and make him cry. They where back helping me today. Its pretty nice to have them go get a tool of hammer ect when Im under the car. I should have it ready for George Rays next weekend.

Been collecting parts for the 58 chevy big window project. Got a Sids front axle , a 9" for it + I built a roller cam 350 Thats all done and even been test run on the stand. Then the other day when I scored a deal on a quicktime scattershield for a Caddy my project changed directions...Hauled a 62 Cad 390 home:D Anyone need a 62 Hydro? Cheap?

  24. Lumpy what's the 9 inch out of and are you keeping the stock springs ?

  25. Me and my son tortured ourselves last night putting in the stainless hardware to hold the stainless firewall insert. Crawling around the roll bar, trying to lay on fiberglass racing seats, jamming your hands into a two inch gap behind the dash to put nylock nuts on the button head fasteners. I don't know whose big idea this was to drill the holes all nice and pretty on the outside of the firewall but not checking how inaccessible the other side was, live and learn.

  27. After doing an extensive remodel on the house I realized how crappy my shop looked. So I’ve spent some time refreshing the outside. Just got my pumps lit up last night.

  28. Mashed the foot starter on my Chevy 235 to go to a show yesterday-dead. Pulled it out, took it apart, skimmed the commutator, re-faced the contacts , lubed it up and stuck in some good brushes from another starter, re-installed it, and it breathes once again.
