James you need to bring the Salt Shaker so you don't forget how to drive a fast car ! Better bring the tool box too, Jackson seems to break things when he goes to these events !;);) lol Larry

  6. Pull the shaker out of retirement. It's only 1/8 mile.

  13. I thought I would mention the elevation at George Rays is right at 250 ft. likely much lower elevation than some might usually run at. So you might think about jets and or metering rods for that elevation?

I was looking at the forecast yesterday....it does look like it'll be "fun" keeping dry, both on the way there from Arizona, and at the track. Hopefully we'll get some racing in!

  16. Forecast 20% Friday 20% Saturday & 10% Sunday.

  18. Yes its still Pretty hot here today. The recient rain is from the hurricane that dropped 40 inches on Houston. Our weather this time of year comes from the South & West. This latest raid traveled north from the gulf into Oklahoma the blew east across the Ozarks. In only about 70 miles from George Rays so im going no matter what the weather does.

Oh, I'm still planning to be there....don't worry

  21. I did something I normally wouldn't do. I just went to O rellies rather than ordering online. I paid double for a set of Rear Wheel cyls to fit the 9 inch rear in my 55. Gotta have good brakes.

  24. If you have never seen the nss in action you are in for a real treat. Most member cars are 8 sec capable quarter mile machines. Their act is very polished after years of performing together. They are also a great group of guys. Putting these cars in this environment will be very entertaining to say the least. john grinwalds altered wheelbase car pictured above is coming home. this car was a George ray regular before I bought it and sent it north with me. john acquired it from me to build a awb car. it used to be blue unaltered.

A few locals have been getting ready for this weekend & it’ll be a treat to see some of these old race cars back at our home track for first time in many years. I look forward to meeting some more Hambs & to seeing the legendary Plan B showing them how it’s done & maybe get a pic with Mr. Jim & his machine. Have a safe trip to all coming. I’m still deciding weither to show up Sat. In an old car or haul speed goodies & a 53 coupe to the swap meet ? Carry on all. Flux

  28. And now the weather liar on KAIT8 is Predicting 0% chance of rain Friday Saturday & Sunday. That suits me. However its supposed to be near record heat. So bring shade and plenty to drink.

  29. I was kinda thinking the same thing. Maybe it would be better for others since im local and can attend & race anytime to not bring a car and crowd up the field? And I need to sell stuff and thin my hoard anyhow. I might just haul a load of parts. If there is something old someone is needing they might post a wanted add in the HAMB classifieds? Myself I want a ring & pinion for a 9 inch ford 411 or steeper. also a 4 bbl intake for a 56 thru 59 Pontiac.
