E4C7B71A-9004-47B4-B07F-C9D9C37C2037.jpeg My friend Ron asked where he could find info on this inflation hose set up, allegedly for a Pontiac with a factory equipped air compressor. I recall 58 Chevrolet having an optional load leveling suspension which I assume used air bags or shocks, it stands to reason that Pontiac may have offered it as well. This is a little bit outside of my wheelhouse but I figured someone on the HAMB will know. Any thoughts?

Just a guess, the gauge doesn’t look right to me. I would think it say pontiac or gm

I’m not home so no photo, but I have one just like that. It came in a leather bag with an assortment of air fittings, a first aid kit, ice scraper, gloves and a rain poncho with our ‘89 Pontiac SSE.

Very cool I have something similar but it screws into spark plug hole and pumps up tire via compression--Have two of them and have used them-carry one in my 40 or 55 when on the road.

  5. 58 olds had opinionated air ride. Wake up in the morning and you might find your car setting crooked with bags deflated.

The fabric jacketed hose and plated steel fittings suggest it's much older.

  9. I had a 1984 Pontiac 6000 STE for a winter beater years ago and I still have that bag and it has the same hose/gauge asm in it with the first aid kit and other stuff Fordors mentioned

Gee, mine looks older with the brass hose fittings ;). Pontiac used air shocks and there was a trunk mounted compressor. With the fittings supplied you could fill a tire, a basketball, a raft for the beach or just blow air at the neighbors dog to scare him.
