I can't remember whose jet car this was. I suspect it was built for the drag strip and not the Salt Flats. To go really fast up there (500 MPH plus), you are going to need some decent aerodynamics if you ever want to set an LSR...

That is a Bocar, a limited production sports car built by Bob Carnes of Colorado. Don't know for sure what series that is but the XP-5's came with the 290 horse 283, with the XP-6 being 16" longer to accommodate the Potvin drive for the front mounted blower feeding the Rochester injection.

 

Alive and well in Lakewood Colo. these days.

It was Jack Zinks new chevy powered car that was driven by Chuck Hulse at Milwaukee 1962 where it was wrecked. I don't think it was ever raced again, by Zink anyway.

 

And I think they were fitted with Hemi engines?
