There is no middle ground when it comes to moon disc, you ether like them or you don't. Have you ever had them on one of your cars ir trucks? I used them om my Model A back in the early 70's, they were cheap and that was all I could afford. HRP
The first car I ever built was a 50 Chevy. Everyone in town had moon disks so I had to follow suit. I took them off when I sold the car and after many years 3 of them got beaten up badly in "storage" and I salvaged the remaining good one which now hangs on my garage wall....
Danny I both like them and dislike them, they are one of those car accessories that have their place, it just depends on the car. I had a set of pretty neat looking Ronal wheels on my new black S10 pickup in 1982 and thought I would try something different, I thought I really had it going on. I did not!
They're very definitely a '50s look and can look great on a street car with that style, although it helps if the car has at least a bit of 'attitude'. And IMO, to really get the 'look', they should be screw-ons or use Dzus fasteners rather than the 'wheelcover' type. They add some 'hot rod/race car' cachet and make a nice change from the endless Caddy/Olds/Dodge wheelcovers you usually see. Add some pinstriping or graphics and they're transformed into a 'custom' part.
I had some on my 49 Olds back in 59 and they were the ones held on with sheet metal screws. they went with the car to the junkyard when I blew up the engine.

In 59, I had the chrome snap on one's on my Caddie powered 53 Merc . Dropped it off at tire shop for new tires. When I came to pick it up, the disks all had huge dents in them. They had used a rubber mallet to put them back on. ....they bought me a new set.
I bought a set to try on my truck....was on 2 days. Still in the attic. The stake bed was off in that pic being narrowed and re-finished
Yes! Bought them at a swap meet in way Upstate N.Y. , but had to cut them down to 15" to fit my old Dakota p/u. When they started to look shabby, broke out the steel wool. Still have wrapped up for the future!?
Got turned away from the Hunnert Car Pile-up at the gate, due to the ugly ass aluminum wheels on the ‘35. Used a set of discs to cover up the wheels. After that, good to go, until I saved up for the steel wheels and whitewalls.
In 1960 My cousin had a blue and white 56 Ford Victoria that he ran 56 Olds Starfire spinner caps on. I thought it was the coolest car ever, cruiser skirts, conny kit, dual pacemaker glasspacks, the works at the time. I had not seen him for a couple weeks when he pulled in our driveway one day with the Ford repainted solid silver blue metallic, no skirts, no conny kit , no flipper caps. It had spun aluminum moons all the way around and I hated it! I gave him all kinds of hell for screwing up his car but I guess he didn't value a 9 year old kids opinion much LOL. 60 years later I have come to like the moon look on some cars, but it has to be the right car to pull it off.

I like the look of them on a belly tanker or LSR type vehicle, but cant really say Ive ever seen em on any other type of build that they blew me away on.
Had an A coupe tha3 off and gave them awayt had the ones with all the clips on them that pushed on. Hit a pot hole one morning and the lr wheel flexed and off it came. My buddy who was behind me said it hit the pavement, turned flat like a saucer and flew down into the woods. Popped the other 3 off and gave them away.
